v12kanye is way better than alchemist. alchemist is the most overrated producer of all time. just loops japanese ladies singing. just blaze as great as he is completely stopped after the 00s. pharrell used his beats on justin timberlake that’s disgraceful. those contemporaries now either don’t make good beats anymore in the case of pharrell, or even make beats like just blaze or bink or they were never those niggas like alc. kanye better than all of em.

yes i do. it’s very easy to describe the vast majority of alchemist production. take a sample and have low kick drums and then make that sample repeat every 5 seconds for the whole track. he’s never been that guy not to mention half of his collab albums are with trash bums like larry june or action bronson. guy ducked from every serious rapper from nas or mach hommy to lock in with. you can say kanye only can do curation but some bald whitey who pretty much remakes the same f***ing beat constantly is as good as pete rock or mannie fresh or even harry fraud

No doubt he produced classics and a lot of dope beats in the 2000s but so did Just Blaze, Bink, Al, Pharrell etc. and we’re not gonna pretend Ye’s production was levels above any of them
The problem is most of them kept working on becoming better beat makers themselves while Ye stopped and imo it really shows when he did the Wyoming albums. Still a good beat maker but he would get washed by a lot of his contemporaries of the 2000s now
I agree with this. Ye has the best produced albums of any rapper Ive ever heard but the fact is his production credits are more a result of the other world class producers he surrounds himself with. Only a handful of his best songs are produced just by himself
Its not like hes locked in a room by himself making his beats, his "production" is the product of the collaborators he works with. His strongest skill is his taste curation and ear for certain mood/sounds/emotions

JB and Bink don’t produce for people much anymore but everytime they do it’s amazing. Like I’m taking those Bink beats on that Ross album over 90% of the Wyoming beats
