From the snippets I heard it’s embarassing. The Backstreet Boys song goes from fun nostalgic drop to the most boring lifeless verses you’ve ever heard.
The freedie gibbs song sounds really good.
I’m totally making this part up, but I think it’s clear when he tries to come up with lyrics by himself vs when it’s ghost written for him and he molds it to his liking.

he played it at the bar, but they cut the lyrics because he wanted them to be surprising
he forgot the aux to the computer so he played old versions of the songs from his iPhone
