I also think music is better when it’s used as an expression of self and self-experience rather than be used as a shambling corpse for money and fame and attention

That hiatus would’ve given a lot of time to experience, to reflect, to develop, and grow

I remember saying when DONDA dropped that I didn’t want him to come back w music for another five years and to just live a life that would give him the inspiration for something truly great

im not saying the vulgar bars have excellent wordplay or whatever but they can be rlly fun and can add something extra to that moment in the song. my point is that Ye isn't going into the booth thinking "damn im boutta spit some knowledge" and coming up w s*** like "eating asian p**** all i need is sweet n sour sauce". he's obviously going for crude, vulgar, and shocking on purpose.

U can take issue w that as an artistic choice, but i think its a sign of undeveloped taste when u think its just a matter of him not being able to write something more traditionally good.
