Donda would be top 5 if the tracklisting wasn't so random and out of place. The second listening party had a much stronger pacing imo.

I still think if he used his mother's speeches as a way to separate and tighten the album around the themes of denial, sadness and eventual acceptance of his marriage ending, the whole album would have been far less bloated.

Unfortunately, he never really accepted the marriage falling apart which I might have contributed to the confusion of the tracklisting.

Heavy disagree. His song structure skill is what continues to make his music so captivating. See: Come to Life

His biggest weaknesses these days are his rapping performances vocally and his lyricism

But he never has more than one verse. It’s disappointing to me. Come to Life is actually one of the few exceptions I thought of. On Donda it felt like instead of using other voices to assist in telling his story, he mostly used them as a crutch to carry songs. It resulted in many great musical moments but still. His song structure pales in comparison to MBDTF days (goat hip hop structure)
