My boy shares an opinion like yours but it’s just not a great one especially if you’re a fan of dude. He’s much worse manic and not on meds than without. The doc and everyone closed to him says this. Unfortunately, going a long time without meds resorts to heavier treatment/doses so it’s literally either this or he’ll be out here acting bat s*** wild. I prefer this over that.

The point isn’t that it’s normal

It’s not normal to neglect your medication then jump back in it, it takes time, you need to get your doses right, you need rest, etc

But it’s great to be back on it and be in normalish situations, it’s a day at a time thing that if done correctly gets more normal and easier by the day

He will be awkward, he will be uncomfortable, especially if he is actually autistic in some way, but he won’t be a danger to himself and the people around him

I think it makes sense for him to be uncomfortable being like in front of an audience/in public situations when he's medicated too

It's not like he just forgets about all the times he publicly decided to say life ruining things for attention when he's doing a bit better mentally

Trying to be a charismatic entertainer but trying to avoid getting into the headspace that causes him to sabotage himself
