You can’t say that without ye or bey, Jay would have been a pusha, because Pusha never been as big as pre-Blueprint Jay. Jay was huge in late 90s, early 2000s. 5 #1 album lol.
He was supposed to retire in 2003 with The Back Album, all that came after is just business and he used really well Ye and Bey. But before that Jay was as big as Nas.

movAt least he isn‘t afraid to drop music in his late career unlike Hov. It Was Written alone is better than any Hov project
Hov always used other artists success to stay relevant. WTT is the best example
