what bothers me about the current ai model is how lifeless it sounds. there's something intimate that comes from the imperfections of a human's voice. like in "Hands On" off JIK or even "God Is" there are moments his voice is strained, you can hear phlegm in his throat, and he sounds raspy. all of that human imperfection is lost with ai voice models.

if MBDTF was ai I would be impressed, because as of 2024 there has been no evidence of an ai voice model existing that as expressive and dynamic as Ye's vocals on MBDTF.

I agree 100% the average consumer has lessened the value of art, and we're currently reaping what we sowed.

What I admired so much about Kanye was how much value he placed on art, it's importance in the world, it's ability to heal, bring people together etc.

From what I've heard on V2, I have yet to see him use ai in a forward thinking transformative way that benefits the art being created outside of it being faster to produce.

I guess my bigger point is if Bully is emotionally moving in sentiment/execution, but the voice expressing the thoughts/verses is devoid of actual human emotion/expression, or another person rapping with a Ye voice model, it would feel a little removed and disingenuous. If you're not rapping the words there's less personal engagement with the art you're creating. I like when you can hear the person spilling themselves into their art, and that's lost when an artist uses an ai models.

I'd rather Ye stop making music, start a streaming service, release music on his website that becomes a corrupted file if shared, or release physical listening machines that isn't compatible with any hardware as a form of protest, rather than him submitting to the current landscape and using ai because music has been devalued.

For a "forward thinking revolutionary" his reaction to use ai because "that's where the future is headed" seems like follower mentality and I thought Ye was anything BUT a follower.
