Large Professor song tease. Alc in the comments.
Also the hook is very similar to a song on his museum album. Different production tho.
So he’s giving us live remixes of the museum album and calling it new

Nah, outside of the refrain “what do you mean by the term the modern world”, basically everything else is brand new.
Ok I updated OP.
Let’s support one of our legends.
I know he does releases very unconventionally and I wouldn’t be surprised if the album is the live performance that will be streamed…but I do like his stubbornness to not play the streaming game. I heard the museum album and I’m sad 99.9% of people will never know what the song “Waves” is.
how was the album overall?
Thank you for making this thread

Very industrial sounding/spacey, and I would say he was speaking to a more pessimistic worldview than he typically does.
A lot of the production was handled by Lord Tusk from UK if you want to get a feel for the sound of the production.
Funnily enough it’s an album that would benefit from being able to sit with it but i enjoyed it.

!https://youtu.be/W9YNkE_JOhA?si=iek8yj3LEiEBbMEYTeasing Khruangbin x Vince Guliardi in his latest snippet of the project. Not surprising to see Yasiin hop on some Khruangbin potentially.
he actually joined them on stage at Primavera '22 (and I was there but missed it fml), there's a video up on youtube I think
Bandcamp better than a museum thats for sure
ngl the more time I had to reflect on this the less I'm feeling the museum approach lmao
like I mean fair he got some money out of it unlike most musicians do w their music but he did essentially cave in to capital for the price of 99% of ppl who love his music being physically unable to hear his new album + those who do being more likely to be privileged class able to afford museum tix lol
a lot of music artists try to make it w fine art bc it's where the money is, that's why so many music artisfs jumped on NFT fad. but was sothere's also a lot of working w fashion which is often mutually beneficial especially w "hip" stylish music, it's always gonna be weird but this one was especially, it just lead to him being literally forgotten about completely until he did the podcast and Black Star reunion and therefore not many gigs...
I respect it as an experiment but also soon like what 5 years later I think it might get time to call it a failure lol. Pitchfork take on it aged well tbh

His concert this year for the ecstatic was one of the highlights for me. Was stuck in a rut and then decided to live a little from then on

Ecstatic is forever one of the most underrated hip hop classics tbh, still his best imo. I might be biased cause it was also among the first rap tapes I listened to but it rly is still so unique and special

his best will always be Black on Both Sides to me but that's easily my next favorite and then The New Danger
but yeah if it was one of your first that's always gonna hold a special place fr

also wanna say take care brodie 🫂💗 I had the most horrible year but now so glad I kept going, got rid of toxic relationships in my life and the difference in optimism for life was pretty insane for me tbh.
u can get so tunnel vision about how bad and hopeless things are, see what you can do to get perspective and find more solid loving footing. if u ever need someone to talk lmk :)

BOBS is an important classic as is first Black Star but I still think Ecstatic expresses his vision best in many ways

Idk why nobody posted this but one of the beats is numbers on the boards 😭 but it’s in Lq
2 other teases we got are like Christmas skits
what does he have against making his freaking music as accessibly available as possible lmao
