I think demos coming back and early access would help . Get it in hands of gamers early same way as reviewers . Gamers are less understanding of bugs though so it’s tough

The PS3 demo selection was one of my favorite things about that console, exposed me to so many games when I was young I would’ve never played otherwise.

Some of my oldest PSN purchase pages are just demo after demo after demo

Gamers became so obsessive about reviews and not trusting previews when demos went down. Gamers companies would show a slice of a game where it looked perfect or would show features then later cut them closer to release .

Companies forget a good demo is the best marketing you can have

Ive just been fiending for a new open world game to delve into personally. Been playing a lot of linear games these past few weeks.

I'm just so excited to learn the combat tbh

Man I remember the excitement of knowing a game I was looking forward to was getting a demo

We went from:
Theres no way they packed all of that in this game. It isn’t a real game. If it’s too good to be true…

That became:
It’s a real game but overly ambitious.

That became:
There’s no way it runs well.

That became:
They must be selecting certain footage & hiding a lot of the performance.

That became:
They really pulled it off

That became:
I bet the side quests & the story will be mid.

Lol gamers are miserable & just down right insufferable. Mf could come with a brand new bike, full of gas & some of yall would be mad you had to ride it back home.

Or it could be that there were egregious examples in gaming where things were blown up and hyped up out of proportions, only for them to end up as either buggy-beyond-playable initial releases or literally soulless cash-grabs.
Especially in gaming, people are right to be vary and cautious and should wait for the first hands-on previews before making any purchasing decisions.
There are two sides to the coin and this deriding of gamers just because mfs got burned a bunch of times and trust no one nowadays helps literally no one, except companies that mostly just care about the profit.
Also helps that the studio that made the game had literally one mid MMORPG before this one, so people are extra cautious.
I agree that the game looks like it could be really fun, but it also wouldn't surprise me one bit if people are dissapointed by the initial release.

Basically unproven dev making an everything simulator with some of the best graphics you’ll ever see. Just sounds too good to be true. It makes sense for people to still be skeptical.

Seems like they mostly pulled it off, but I’m sure there will be compromises.
