Never played yazuka games but seeing their lengths all be 100 hours long turns me off from the series

They're nowhere near that length if you don't want them to be. If you stick to the story and do a handful of side quests here and there, most of them come out at like 25-30 hours. There is a ton of content packed into the games, but a vast majority of it is optional.

Wonder if the Ishin remake was made specifically to fill the gap until 8.

S*** is gonna be next level since it’s an RPG from inception though.

That’s most likely the purpose of Like A Dragon Gaiden. Gaiden will be about where Kiryuu was in between 6 & 7.
He’s one of the protagonists in 8 so it makes sense.

Yakuza 0 took me nowhere near this long. Like 30 hours and I play through games really slow

It definitely takes longer with all the major side content, about 60h

Just play Yakuza 0

And nobody forces you to do all the side content

Although the so-called submissions are really awesome and what gives the games their unique flair

They're only that long if you're going for the plat and doing damn near everything in the game

If you just focus on the main story then you'll finish in like 20 hours

If you doing some side stuff and main story it's like 25-30
