Damn even Kiwami 2? Heard that one was good I thought. Played 0 last year and was going to play Kiwami 1 & 2 this year.
Kiwami 1 is great, bro wylin. Haven't played 2 or 3 tho

nope not even k2. og y1 and 2 are fantastic, worth playing over any s***ty remake with pcsx2 where tbey run flawlessly. also get the yakuza restored mod which restores the og VA over the s***ty english dub. google it and you'll find it.
like i said, ignore the glazers like the guy above me. OG yakuza combat for example>>>>kiwamis. the mfs in the VG threads on this site site generally aren't very discerning when it comes to games.
All the Kiwamis are ass but most haven't played the ogs to know that
This year id like to finally play og 1 and 2

kiwami 1 and 2 are fine
bro being a big hater
Og 3 was always good tbh very overhated
the story isn't as strong as the first 3 and the combat isn't the most engaging but ya other than that its fine
took like a 2 month break from infinite wealth. the game has the same problem as 5 in that there's just way too much stuff crammed into it. once the game switches to kiryu's party i got burnt out cause it felt like the game was basically starting over. not a fan of that decision. probably just gonna mainline the story now and not worry about much else
so i’m playing 0 rn and plan on playing 3 kiwami when the time comes but with all the cuts i’ve heard about im thinking about playing 3 remastered first
Play the remastered 3 before kiwami 3, so you understand the story better. Just keep in mind that the gameplay is busted depending on if you're playing on console or PC.
finally finished infinite wealth today. i have a lot of thoughts. overall i'm pretty mixed on the experience. this was probably the weakest narrative since y5 and maybe the weakest overall. i really struggled to feel connected to or motivated by what was happening in the story. the pacing never really felt like it picked up, it was kinda always the same tempo. this issue also extended to the main villains who never really felt like they got enough time on screen to have a real presence
that being said, this is easily the best combat in the entire series imo, it's so much fun. y7 already had great combat but they expanded on that system and made it even better. it was always so cool to knock an enemy into a teammate, who then hits them into an environmental hazard and then another teammate followed up with another attack. i switched ichiban up a few times but mainly stuck with desperado, and on chitose i went with kunoichi, those jobs were my favorites. adachi still feels kinda positionless, but maybe i'm playing him wrong idk
i was not a fan of the game splitting off kiryu into his own party. it felt like a cheap way to include seonhee, zhao, and joongi because they wouldn't have had roles in the game otherwise. kiryu's memoirs felt a little nostalgia baity to me, so i didn't end up doing much of them. i think a lot of those moments deserve bigger pay offs than the few i saw but i can understand why people would love them
thoughts on some of the new characters:
bryce and ebina just didn't do it for me as villains. like i said, they both spend so much time off screen that their final moments just lack any impact. bryce is hardly expanded on at all, and the whole nuclear waste storage plot was somehow too silly even for a yakuza game. ebina's confrontation with kiryu was great and his japanese va did an awesome job, i just wish we would've got more of that throughout the game
tomizawa - ehh, generally found him to be pretty uninteresting. a lot of times his dialog felt very stilted and oddly placed
chitose - underdelivers overall. i think her background could make for some really interesting plot developments in future games though. they could've come up with something better than her repeatedly betraying the team over and over
yamai - one of the best characters the series has had in a while. he stole every scene he was in. his presence was immediately felt from the first time he appeared. unfortunately he ends up feeling underutilized and kinda just starts to show up whenever it's convenient for the plot. his origin story was so good and i wish we would've gotten more that than just in his final scene. there's so much potential for a great story about one sided love and betrayal but all we get is him telling us it was a one sided love and that he was betrayed. anyway, i loved how they tied back him always having chills in hawaii to his blood turning cold the day the matriarch set him up. also the way he stopped himself from saying "anything for you" like he did when he agreed to her plan all those years ago as he put his coat on the matriarch, ah! peak
majima, daigo and taiga showing up as support characters was dope. i wish they would've been playable, but i get it
dondoko island was addicting af. i think i put in like 25 straight without ever leaving at one point lmao. i never finished it but i still loved it
overall i still really enjoyed my time with the game despite it's problems. i'd give it a 8/10
i just looked in my email and i initially bought yakuza 0 on june 28th, 2018. what a journey it's been, can't believe i'm finally caught up

Lmao they didn’t even give Tetsuo Tamashiro voice actor a copy of the game
What are they doing man? Guy has a pre-owned copy.

The Silent Hill f VA had to buy the game and a PS5 to play it. I’m sure they could just ask for a copy but you think it’d be standard to just give them one lol

Right. At least a digital one.
Watched some of the first episode… so much better than the bs Amazon put out. Just campy fun.
He could definitely fit in this world somehow lol
