Have you not played the judgment games?
finally started playing y7 and man there's so much freaking content. i'm about to hit 30 hours and i'm only a few missions into chapter 5
i keep getting side tracked with all the other s***. it started off pretty slow but once it opened up it fully got it's hooks in me

just got to the saejima and majima fight
1. that was sick af and i somehow managed to never get that spoiled for me
2. why the f*** was it so hard?
insane difficulty spike out of nowhere. i had to spend like a hour grinding the battle arena to even make it seem doable
finished y7 tonight, this was amazing
those final scenes before the end credits are some of the best in the entire series
ichiban's japanese va was incredible, it felt so real. the performances, the direction, the callbacks, just fantastic and left me in awe
the story was pretty straightforward as far as yakuza stories go. there's some silly stuff, like mirror face though. that "character" was clearly only written in to justify the tendo bit at the end. tbh i never felt that connected to any of ichiban's crew. they're all written well enough and have their purpose, so the connection will probably come i get to know them more in future games. ichiban is a fun protagonist and i'm excited to see more of him
i didn't really like kiryu's role in the story. it felt kinda forced and unnatural. i feel like they've could've written any character to play the role he did. his introduction was sick af though ngl
the major switch to turn based combat was interesting. it feels really fast and responsive, which i loved. the jobs are nice but it really feels like there's only 1 or 2 ideal jobs for each party member. you could probably run any combo and do fine though. however there are few difficulty spikes and certain enemies that really ruin the pacing of the game. i found myself in multiple fights where i was just looping the same attacks and spells over and over and over again because the enemies had such high health pools and did so much damage that it was the only way to keep the party alive and make minuscule progress. those fights end up feeling like wars of attrition and just a real slog to get through. there weren't a ton of these but the few that were there were not very fun to play
it's so crazy that i'm finally getting close to catching up with the mainline games
Finally been playing Yakuza 0. Just met Nishitani, dude’s f***ing crazy
No way this mf dead already
my reaction
yak 0 is such a classic
Gotta stop growing attached to these characters

LOL I remember that fight
just finished gaiden, 10/10, what a f***ing game
i didn't really like kiryu's role in y7 but this game added some much needed context to his role and makes it a lot better in retrospect
i really enjoyed the shorter and more straight forward story. i'd like to see rgg do more of these in the future, like a 15 hour akiyama focused game would kick ass but that's a long shot
the final boss fight is one of my favorites in the series. it flowed really well and just had that major moment feel to it
i really wish i would've played this sooner cause i would've loved to explore more of the coliseum and max out akame's network, but i just don't think i'll have the time before the switch 2 launch and all the other summer games. maybe i'll try to chip away at it idk
the cutscene of taichi and ayako's message to kiryu f\*\*\*ing broke me, i was in tears and then they f\*\*\*ing show haruto's drawing, goddamn, too much. kiryu breaking down and the tears dropping onto the tablet, ahhhh it was all so hard to watch! incredible scene
