Making Elder Scrolls exclusive may be there best move if it brings in more subscribers to Game Pass. A subscriber can be far more valuable than a sell if they end up staying
except they dont need it to be exclusive to bring in subscribers to gamepass.
PS5 users will have to pay $70 to get the game meanwhile gamepass users get it free
that is an incredible deal and will sell gamepass
Add to that you have all of Bethesda's catalogue coming to gamepass and thats why they bought them
Elder Scrolls isnt coming out for like 3 years Microsoft will care even less about moving hardware then
I would literally be SHOCKED if Elder Scrolls was exclusive literal shock
If Elder Scrolls and most of Bethesda's games are going to be Xbox exclusive why wouldnt Microsoft push this now at their console launch to help move units and generate hype for Xbox?
They literally have no games and need all the promotion and hype they can get
This is when they need to sell hardware and generate hype. Todd Howard himself said Elder Scrolls being exclusive was hard to imagine. Phil Spencer said games would be evaluated on a case-by-case basis

Or they can get more Game Pass subscribers while simultaneously increasing their Xbox Live user base, whether it's through PC or console they obviously want more people playing on their platforms. Plus Game Pass will probably be more expensive by then bringing in even more revenue, the only way I see it on PS5 is if Sony allows Game Pass which is highly unlikely

believe what you wanna but Microsoft only cares about gamepass now they know that they are 2nd place to Sony in hardware sales and hype in general
Microsoft is solely focused on the future and making gamepass a great deal that people buy into.
You really think that if Microsoft made Elder Scrolls exclusive all the Sony fans would just say "Oh i guess im buying an Xbox"?? Trust me they wouldnt. half of them have PCs already anyway where all Microsoft games will be and the other half would just be mad at Microsoft and scream at them
Microsoft didnt buy Bethesda to make every game exclusive you guys are comparing them to Sony and their goals when they are completely different diverging paths
Microsoft bought them to fluff gamepass, make a few games exclusive to grow the brand, and rake in profits

Phil said it’s illegal to talk about it since they don’t actually own Bethesda at the moment.

I mean yea they obviously bought them for Game Pass which is why they will use their games as leverage, we'll see how it all plays out here in a few years

they honestly dont really need to make the games exclusive for leverage though
I bought a Series X basically just bc of gamepass and for old games. Games being $70 now really hurts the pockets and you can literally get gamepass for a year for less than one game
Add all of Bethesda's games and then you get Starfield and Elder Scrolls day 1 along with whatever they add to Gamepass by then and we have the craziest deal of all time
agree to disagree though and obviously nobody really knows what will happen

You're adding to my point, If I had a PS5 and couldn't play Fallout 5, Elder Scrolls 6 or Starfield I would either get a PC or Xbox, as would many others. Microsoft is playing the long game, this is just a small step towards growing GP. At the moment they only have 15 million subscribers, Netflix almost has 200 million. GP is still young and has a lot of room to grow. Microsoft would be smart to do anything it can to get more subscribers including making Elder Scrolls exclusive. One sell is a one time event a subscription has the potential to become stable monthly income

im not adding to your point though
you think that just because they want to add to gamepass that making it exclusive is the way to go but that just isnt the case imo
Making it exclusive would bring in more people to Xbox this is true but how do you quantify that? You cant tell how many people would actually buy an Xbox specifically for Elder Scrolls. It would literally be on PC why would you buy an Xbox.. You can tell however that Elder Scrolls 6 will sell millions of copies at $70 on PS5 based on prior sales of Elder Scrolls games and the hype the game will have
You just said that you would either get a PC or Xbox. If you were to get a PC that defeats the whole advantage of it being an Xbox exclusive to sell hardware in the first place nigga
Im not adding to your point youre literally morphing into my point of them only caring about growing gamepass. Elder Scrolls 6 being an exclusive instead of just on gamepass day 1 doesnt really grow gamepass
If im going out of my way to get an Xbox for 1 game the last thing im doing is getting a subscription service with it that locks me to keep paying if i want to even play the game

My point is that it’s better to have it on Microsoft’s ecosystem which includes PC not just Xbox lol

okay but it would literally already be in Microsoft's ecosystem if it wasnt exclusive as it would be on gamepass day 1 so i just dont understand
bet let's run recon lol
Which account are you?
I saw ‘let’s run recon’ and then kept playing rogue company cause idk what that means lmao
...This ES6 convo again. Just wait and see, jesus.
We know you guys with PlayStation don't want it to be an exclusive no need to keep spitting out your theories on why it won't be and just wait and see.

games as big as Elder Scrolls being exclusive just isnt good for the industry has nothing to do with being a playstation fan
also i find it comical how yall are allowed to say your theories why its going to be exclusive but if you say why you think it isnt theres "no need to keep spitting out your theories"

My point is to not have any Bethesda games on PS5 so that people would be forced to get Game Pass through PC or Xbox, what don’t you understand?

Oh it's halo 3 with odst weapons and settings. It's a sweat fest since everyone is trying to get to rank 20 on the Playlist for some skin or something.
Let me know what your gamer tag is. I'll get on around 8pm central time

that just wont happen and if you think it will youre on crack

We have what 3 PlayStation exclusives that's nominated for GOTY this year?
In the last year I looked up a baseball game to play and couldn't because as I was looking I came to the realization the only good one is a PlayStation exclusive. FF? PS Exclusive.
Sony hogging Spiderman for how long now? Which is a huge game. Don't complain to me about good or bad for the industry lol.
Great argument lol
i really need to argue why every Bethesda game wont be exclusive??? come on man

and everything you said is bad for the industry/consumers as a whole..
youre acting like i have even mentioned Sony's games or how they handle things when i dont agree with that either
Sony niggas said they don’t care about Bethesda yet here we are still talking about whether or not the games will be exclusive or not. Like @SBMike said, just wait and see damn. For now enjoy y’all new consoles (if you managed to cop one
)
