Series S is a value to people the same way pc has minimum specs that normal people can run. This idea that Sony and PS5 are some sort of boujee high spec club while final fantasy xvi deals with frame rate and other performance issues then all the way up until launch says "we don't need a patch" " the previews that said framerate issues were a old build" rather than just being f***ing honest is dumb as f***.

Baldurs gate minimum specs the chance someone wants to play this game, doesnt have a pc, cant run it and only owns an xbox series s or x is low

Theh idea that someone is more hyped for baldurs gate than starfield or has time to properly play both is also extremely low

Like no matter how many devs say "series s is a pain" its Microsoft strategy and I respect not budging. It would be worse to sell people a series s then tell devs "yeah we don't give a f*** if you can run on series s you can make it a series x exclusive".

Again a lot of these games aren't pushing anything that crazy. If you run on a series s lower the resolution or have it fixed on a max of 1080p rather than trying to upscale and a lot of your issues memory wise are often alleviated. Obviously depends on the game and gameplay

Value to people who all don’t want to get a 500$ console isn’t a mistake. It’s dope they have options . This has lead to them taking off in Japan on series s sales . More than 4k 60fps is just being able to play and there is a huge back catalog and gamepass drops someone can play on a series s no problem .
