yes but the point is that they knew him. its like the pusha t handler thing.
to be useful to these guys you do not necessarily have to hold a lot of power. yes, power broker s*** is a big part of this operation. but so is running a prostitution ring. that means guys who can source girls from the streets or be trusted bodyguards or whatever else are sometimes just as useful, even if they don’t hold any kind of institutional power.

Now, I know that rocafella was started with Jay Z and Dame’s own money from d*** dealing, but getting an indepedent label off the ground like that is no easy feat. maybe Jay Zs worked with that circle of people as a d*** dealer/pimp before the fame, and his connections with them made the process a little easier.

I totally understand being skeptical that we’ll get a teddy roosevelt in office any time soon, and again he was only able to get in as a VP, even back then. but then I think it makes more sense to ask “is the tool we call government so overrun by corruption that we can’t use it for ourselves anymore?” instead of saying that the very concept of government itself makes no sense, or is always fated to lead to evil.

its not that i disagree with you, but i do think you're devaluing the lives of people who'll get f***ed up by whatever transition of power gets advocated for
whether that's a necessarry thing or not i guess, your mileage may vary (i'd probably even say yes most of the time).
but ultimately, i can't help but feel there's a difference from theoretical blood shed and real blood shed, and that's a hard circle to square

I don’t believe in anarchy. I believe some kind of government is necessary for a healthy society. Personally, I think cybernetics is the ideal answer, like what Allende was doing. And I don’t think we get there by acting like the very concept of government itself is problematic. that’s all I’m saying.

i remember watching hypernormalisation as a college freshman, and i understood what the surkov method was, but i was kind of confused by how it was supposed to work. No one is making the argument that “government” is good or bad.
the idea that the state is currently in a place where corruption is held accountable is the case-point that you are defending. You aren’t even faithful in that idea!
You are saying that the best historical scenario is one where, through luck of the draw, someone was placed in a subsidiary position of power. And then, through even MORE luck, they achieved power to see through their goals! They didn’t even solve the fundamental issues of this system through their goals! To say this is acceptable, and then present such an argument, is ludicrous!
And this is not even considering your incorrect a***ysis that the Gilded era was more corrupt than now! Capitalism is now fully infused into the liberal state, and what we saw as corruption in the past is now part-and-parcel of the day-to-day functioning of the state. How do you expect a candidate to merely throw on the band-aid you so uphold so virtuously when capitalist capture of the government is even more intense!
There is no other answer other than revolution, and one where the state is no longer held accountable through the immaterial power of a vote.
