one of the most influential rock songs ever Johnny B Goode by Chuck Berry uses the intro from the Louis Jordan song Ain't That Just Like A Woman from 1946. and Chuck also used tons of other variations on that part for intros to other classics

    compare the first few seconds

not saying its an evil rip off or anything but its just interesting and most people dont know

Michael Jackson composing and writing most of his biggest songs (the joint most #1 solo written songs of any artist I believe)

And everyone thinking it was Quincy Jones that was behind it all

Ain’t gon lie brother no one was really doing that, at least not to that extant most ppl believe it’s all Mike which adds to the legacy

I think the tone shifted over the years but there’s a definite opinion from “real music fans” that MJ was just the dancing man.

I mean, Scott Storch and Mel-Man basically produced 2001. And even though Mel-Man is on the credits, his name is behind Dre like he's the helper. Dre should've been credited as nothing more then executive producer on 2001.

Two of the Beatles and Beach Boys biggest hits are admitted rewrites of Chuck Berry songs decades after the popularity faded lmfao. Makes you wonder about other songs

You could hardly pick two artists who started respectfully derivative and then developed their own entire thing 100 times over

Chuck titled his last classic album from '64 St Louis to Liverpool to cash in on the Beatles popularity and performed with Lennon and other Brits pretty quickly. Pretty safe to say he saw his influence as inspiration and not like he got ripped off. And he was as much of a household name as the Beach Boys were in them early mid '60s.

Saying Devil in the New Dress was produced by Ye gotta be the worst lie
I feel bad for Bink! Honestly

Everyone just assumes ye produced it because of his legacy up until that point. Even Mike Dean tried to act like Bink! Did nothing lmao

most people think Devil in a new dress is produced by mike dean and all he did was add a guitar solo

Ray Charles the only og black performer that l've seen throw actual shade at (good) white performers he considered rip offs and that was fair enough cause Elvis did lame ass versions of his songs. Little Richard says he thanked God for Elvis every day however.
