Nats will have Howie Kendrick and Starlin Castro at second. Howie can split time across second and first to keep Ryan Zimmerman from being overworked.
With the situation at second figured out, Carter Kieboom has become a good trade chip for us. Kris Bryant? More likely than it was yesterday.

Cubs not budging unless Robles is included
And if we include Robles in a trade for anyone not named Mike Trout Mookie Betts or Christian Yelich I will have to seriously reconsider being a Nationals fan
Considering Bryant would basically be a rental, Carter Kieboom and a couple pitching prospects would be a very fair offer.
We shouldn't even be talking about this because simply giving Rendon what he wanted made the most sense. Oh well.

Kieboom isn't that good, man

He grades out as a top 15-20 prospect with a really good arm and had a .900+ OPS in AAA. He's a good trade chip. We also have some quality pitchers in the farm.
Padres would make sense as a trade destination because they have great pitching prospects, he can play outfield behind Machado, and he's a west coast guy, but they haven't shown interest lately. Braves could easily put together a better package, but they're more interested in retaining Donaldson. Tbh I don't know where he ends up, I just know we've reached out with this Castro signing going down.

sounds like Urias and he was a bum. 2B prospects have the highest bust rate for a reason
Padres do make sense
but since we aren't winning the WS this year it doesn't make sense to pay what he would cost at this point
Braves definitely have the farm to add him and he makes sense, they're definitely getting someone
i bet he stays put tho

Kieboom is a natural SS, not 2B. But if we kept him he would be in competition for 2B unless Trea got hurt.
I do think Bryant makes most sense in Chicago, it's just that their organization has been tight with contracts after a period of intense spending and I bet they ultimately let him walk the way we did Harper. If they 100% believe they're winning a title with him in the next two years, it would be logical not to shop him. Seems unlikely though.

Why is having the Nationals at 7 laughable? If anything they should be higher. Twins at 4? Braves at 6? But Nationals at 7 is what made you laugh?

twins at 4 is a joke too tbh, don't trust their rotation behind berrios
And now that I'm looking at it I'd maybe have probably only have like 2 teams behind the Nats over em so it's not really laughable you're right.
I do like Braves at 6, with the assumption they get Donaldson. They're gooood.
