Astros fans thought their off-season couldn't get any s***tier.
When they trade Carlos Correa for Luis Castillo

The cheap b******s shedding payroll after all those years of tanking.
Kind of wild how the whole league is in agreeance that Ryu was a half season wonder

So his 2018 or his 2019 second half ERA of 3.18 aren't good?
Yankees overpaid though....that’s pretty much the Albert Pujols deal for a player who doesnt play everyday

Except Pujols was 32 when he signed his contract and Cole will age more gracefully than Pujols.
This is the ace the Yankees have been missing for pretty much a decade and arguably just put up the most dominating season in MLB history considering his numbers and hitting environment outside of maybe Pedro 1999

Cole is fantastic no argument there, I don’t think he’s worth that contract since he doesn’t play everyday. In all honesty these baseball contracts are getting out of hand imo.

If he wins 3 rings, it's worth it

The money doesn't matter when the team can afford to spend it 10 ways.
The years won't matter if we win 1 World Series with him.

I think there should be a cap tbh...Out of all the sports baseball is the most team oriented. One player alone can only do so much to impact the game but they get paid the most.
1 isn’t enough it has to be multiple especially with Yankees. See A-Rod.

No, there should be a league payroll minimum that all teams should be hitting.
There's no reason why a bunch of teams have a payroll of $50 milllion with billionaire owners and a new stadium.
The salary tax threshold has become somewhat of a hard cap lately for teams like the Yankees, Red Sox & Dodgers anyway. We'll see if the new CBA gets rid of the salary tax threshold or at least increases it a bit.

Exactly, revenues are going up but people don't want the players to get their piece of the pie, lol
