It hinges on Matt’s decision. That’s been the case since he was hired for The Batman which is why he’s not been attached to universes through 3 eras of DC film leadership now. Matt at best works closely with WB and alongside DC Studios, not under DC

It really comes down to if Pattinson wants to play Batman for the next 10-12 years. And I’m not sure he wants to do that.

Correct on first part. He doesn’t have power over either. Zaslav is the CEO and everyone’s boss. Gunn is his coworker and they have to meet to navigate their different universes and Matt does lead production on projects for Gunn and Safrans studio. DC isnt Marvel Studios where everything is a Feige led production.

When Matt does work like The Batman, he specifically notes he sends his scripts to WB and DC as if they’re separate partners (which they are to him). There’s stuff Matt does with WB like Caped Crusader that doesn’t fall under DC Studios at all.

No one’s coming in and making him do XYZ especially when he’s generating successful projects. Even Gunn has literally said it’s Matt’s decision why it hasn’t happened

S2 is in production. It was alright I enjoyed it but def some space to grow

Gunn is not Reeves coworker, he is his boss. But Gunn has made it clear that he stays out of Reeves way creatively because he’s doing non-canon films.

That's a convenient explanation to fall back on when its the exact same treatment Reeves also got under Johns and Hamada. . Maybe, just maybe leadership hasn't butted in or integrated his stuff because...they can't? I've had various iterations of this discussion since summer 2017 on KTT1 when Reeves got heat for saying Batman wasn't DCEU and there's yet to be evidence pointing elsewhere

On top of that Zaslav came in and Reeves was the first director signed to an overall deal and re-upped his WB TV contract, from which he has only gained power over Batman-related projects. Recent stuff like Dynamic Duo and Clayface aren't Gunn just allowing 6th & Idaho to work projects, it's Reeves/6th & Idaho using that WB deal. Idk why yall ignore Reeves directly is signed through WB. He is not literally working under DC Studios. Like sure they're "DC Studios films," but Batman is also a flagship "WB Pictures film."

The production credits on all this stuff tell the story. Just look at the credits of DCU projects vs Reeves. Especially Penguin. It's just Reeves, Clark, LeFranc (Reeves/HBO hire), HBO and their people. That show is not waiting on Gunn to read a script to proceed lol. DCU projects though are all Safran/Gunn led productions

They're not letting their sub-studio's leadership overstep a situation like this. New leadership signed Reeves at a point WB lost its good graces with many creators. Prior one gave Reeves his own universe and no one in DC has been able to touch it since. Even when DCEU was desperate they were making up all types of s*** saying "Well actually we're Earth 1, and Reeves is Earth 2" and other nonsense. Now, the explanation is DCU and "Elseworlds" (which isn't even an actual imprint, doesn't have a logo, nor has active films in development that aren't Reeves-produced lol).

This hinges on Matt's decision. You guys approach this like Reeves is a DC Studios employee. He works at 6th & Idaho through a WB deal and collaborates with Gunn/Safran. If you're them, of course you boil it down to "we choose to stay out the way"
