A lot of the writing is kinda spotty and whatever serves the plot.

Like for example the movie starts off with everyone acknowledging krypton is going to be destroy, was there really a need to send zod to the PZ, why not just let him die on the planet

Then another with his dad and saving the dog

There's a lot more instances like that in the film

....bc the council was in denial? It's literally right there in the scene. His dad didn't want him too and Clark didn't have all his powers.

The council was in denial before but were bout to grant jor-el permission to send off the codex before zod kill one of them. Plus Lara was standing right there.

Just because his dad didn't want to, isn't a good reason tho lol. That's what I mean by when I say for the sake of the plot the movie does whatever.

And Lois just somehow being able to find Clark identity in the matter of days is kinda silly and defeats the whole point of his dad's death, cause bro clearly wasn't doing a good job hiding himself like his dad wanted.

Then u got the kryptonians just to being able to adapt to the earth's environment in like a day, when a big point of sending Clark there as a baby was so he could spend his whole life adapting and absorb the yellow sun.

Clark somehow becoming a journalist at the biggest news publication in a New York esque city also felt tacked on. There's other nitpicks I have but like i said if u take the movie as is it's great, but the overall writing is kinda eh at parts of the film

Never watched JL release version or synder cut. Watching synder cut now and it's pretty hard but I'm an hour in and it's mostly been build up. The amount of s*** they must of cut to fit in 2 hours must be crazy

I think going into the Snyder cut knowing it’ll include everything he filmed for it makes those moments easier to handle but yeah a good amount of that movie is buildup or slowmo shots lol
It feels epic in scale and is a great watch but for sure not something that was meant for theaters
