Just in like scope of the entire DCEU up to The Suicide Squad at that point. Pushing aside the fact that The Suicide Squad was done by James Gunn, Starro was a villain that I thought would be too out there for a big tentpole movie.

Looking at the Guardians movies before this although the jokes and out there concepts were there, the villains weren’t crazy in that sense.

It’s a bold swing and it paid off for this movie

From what I’ve seen from the clips of Affleck’s Batman in the Flash movie, I think Muschietti is a really great choice for a Batman film

don't think brave and the bold requires some Gunn level, personal and disctinct style. Muschietti is a good director so he'll 100% deliver. what's more important is who's writing this. that person has a difficult task. somehow make the audience click with both a new batman (first time we have 2 batmen concurrently) and the first robin appearance in years (and it's damian lol). on top of that they gotta make it feel hella different from Reeves

it's technically not the start, but it can def work into the DCU since it is a stand alone movie if that makes sense. no real greater story connective tissue. Lots of rumors saying that if it's successful enough then it will be a part of the DCU.

first thing to release under DC Studios officially is going to be Creature Commandos (a show) that is going to come out at the top of next year I think

James Gunn has said that Superman: Legacy is the official start of the DCU even tho some of these things are to be released prior. I think Gunn means it in the sense of how it will be the first film to release officially under the DC Studios banner.

seems like guillermo del toro really wants to partake in the DCU too
