Over 150 million streams on spotify alone. I know this site props up global numbers for certain artists 🗿
I think I’m the only person who didn’t like uproar
Such a generic “hit”
that song sucks
He needs to stop playing and get a hook from The Boy.
Wayne's rapping is as steady as it's ever been, but the concepts and hooks from a mainstream perspective are arguably as bad as they've ever been.
Tap in with Future, Drake, get you a smash hook

Agreed 100%

Abel too.
Abel too.
Abel could definitely deliver a HIT hit for Wayne, for sure.
Nevertheless, this isn't meant to be demeaning to Lil Wayne. For the longest of time, rappers had to outsource hooks and songs for their hits from the record label. He himself had to do this plenty of times. Everybody not a 100 percenter like Super, like Drake.
He's just in a space right now where he's lost his fastball in terms of creating a 'hit' record, a smash. You see him go viral for his technical rapping ability which is still awesome, but that s*** don't go far. Those aren't the big songs and that's where he and his team are struggling with IMO.
How was Wayne perceived in 2004-2007? How big was he? I know Tha Carter II had hype.
Best street rapper
Funny thing about Wayne is he had the street rapper title
Like Gucci and boosie and niggas like that but he also got that mainstream appeal

Wayne just isnt that popular no one is on top forever. Even Kanye and Eminem havent had a solo hit in years.
I Do It from Funeral went top 40 without a music video it had a lot of potential but didn't have much budget behind it imo.

So stoned I finally looked up the context of this gif
Emma Stone took this opportunity to let the audience know this was her first time presenting at the Oscars, and she was looking to make it memorable. The “Easy A” star suggested a variety of ways to make this moment memorable, even suggesting a song and dance number. “I can just pull someone up from the audience and have them dance with me. Oh my God Jonah Hill. Get up here! Let’s dance, let’s dance,” Stone said. The camera shoots to Hill while he shakes his head “no” at Stone
Nice!
Doesn’t need one and shouldn’t chase a hit imo. His hits catalogue already certified
Maybe
But probably not

I think Drake just not sending Wayne songs with hooks but thats what is needed for a hit. Even if he gave Wayne Staying Alive instead of DJ Khaled.
It looks like Wayne still reworkin startrax. They added a tyga hook and wayne redid verse for it.
Will jcole have another hit?
Cole just went number 1 with Drake and that Durk song was massive as well, bad comparison

Exactly lol. Cause if wayne got a hit and had drake and travis/future on song people would still discredit him.
I would rather people play the whole album then have one song with drake make up 1/3rd of the sales.

They're getting up there in age. Especially Ye and Em.
It's only natural for the OG's to lose some of their hotness over time especially in their 40's and 50's.
I just think we're at a weird point where the lack of newer rap stars is making many people stick with the older rappers more than ever before which is why people will clown Wayne and Ye for "flopping" in the later stages of their careers instead of paying attention to newer rappers' outputs and chart success.

Yup. 2012 Oscars
Emma Stone goated btw

Admittedly, I have been wanting to see that musical with her & Ryan Gohsling for the longest. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her play in anything
He could if he wanted to but I don't think he cares about it this late into his career. He's a GOAT and has more than enough classic projects and songs to forever carry his name better than a modern BB #1 could aid.
op said feats dont count lmao.
Well even then I'd say Cole would have a higher chance of a solo hit compared to Wayne. Ur Kanye comparison was better tbh

People forget Wayne was the go to for hooks at one point too not just verses. He gave away hits in the late 2000s

Yea it weird cause some people are asking for wayne to make boom bap music like benny and conway and/or link with hitboy. Which wont have the commercial success or hit factor that others are aparently looking for. No matter what people will complain.
