chromakopia (on this site at least)

    It’s his best album imo

Never understood the hate on here for it

  • Kdogone

PPDS is definitely better but it’s still a good album

  • Cody

    ye

This another one for me too

  • JeffersonSteelflex

    fav drake album

  • Bobby_96

    Vultures 1 tbh.

Obviously not good for Kanye standards but I still replay it quite often.

Also, Untitled by Nas. I've seen many people write this album off but it aged well with its songs and subject matter IMHO.

Lastly, Might Delete Later by Cole. Overlooked and hated on due to Cole bowing put of the beef and deleting 7 minute Drill but its arguably Coles peak as an emcee despite not being that musically great.

Cole just needs an album filled with Pi like tracks. Forget the crossing over and radio tracks completely

never seen real hate on the album until i was in the Dont tap the glass thread, was shocked

Wrong, whole thing is utterly brilliant. Probably his best album imo

Interesting take id like to hear you expand on that

Imo it's got about 1 percent of the charm, wit, depth, power and mystery of The Basement Tapes or Blonde.

The thing about Eternal Atake 2 is I understand why a lot of people didn’t like it.

But it’s not a another mind numbing 20 track album with the same production and flows the whole way through

Every song has a weird different approach and sometimes it walks the line between being super creative and straight up bad lol but I find it really interesting and enjoyable

It’s such a crashout album, i’ve come to enjoy, he was off the s***s making it clearly off the whippets and the music conveys that momentum really well

Uzi’s too naturally talented as a rapper and as a persona he could never make anything uninteresting

My interpretation of the album is it’s Dylan just making music, not to make a direct comparison but almost his Brian Wilson Friends album or something

I think it intentionally eschewed the whole generational spokesman thing and therefore the “mystery” and superficial depth that goes with that, to me this was the boldest statement in that direction. It’s provocative but also simple. I find the presentation of the originals and covers and live curiosities as a self portrait of Dylan extremely interesting, I haven’t listened in a bit but I think it’s still a really smart artistic statement.

I think the weird collection of music was representing who he actually is, rather than presenting the hippie Jesus facade that people are still in love with. And I think that’s part of why no one accepted it lol. I think most people wanted him to remain an idol and dont accept hearing him as mortal. I think his love for music and humility really shine through on the album

I can understand/appreciate that but also think all of these points also apply to The Basement Tapes, which does the same thing and also manages to have at least a dozen of his best songs. The fact that he didn't really plan to release them to the public adds a seriously magical off the cuff vibe.

Have you marinated on The Complete Basement Tapes?

  • Air Dance and Johnny Blade are all-time Sabbath cuts. I love NSD and Technical Ectasy. RIP Ozzy 🙏
