He had an interview where he said he just considers death proof a lesser movie, still one of his films, it counts.

He does consider Kill Bill one, which is crazy that he wrote it with that wild structure lol.

    Fax

Vol 2 has such a DIFFERENT feel to Vol 1 (I really enjoyed the Western feel it took in the latter half, since we're considering it one film)

mf was gonna release it as one 4h movie

    then weinstein was like pause

I don't think he gets enough respect for how crazy Kill Bill was as an idea. He hadn't released a movie in 5 years, his last film was a lowkey character study, and then he just films a four hour kung fu/spaghetti western epic.

    A true madman.

It definitely all works which is the craziest thing. I hope he releases the whole bloody affair someday, its' been a dream of mine to catch it at The New Bev but he hasn't played it in years as far as I'm aware.

in a way django should be my favorite,it has it all to me

it’s as fun as inglorious and a periodic piece that is more deserving than another hitler periodic piece

however inglorious came first and was a reborn in his career after an heh movie, and as much as it is another hitler movie it’s the only one that’s as fun, plus opening scene is unreal

django does the same on a different topic, so as much as it’s as good if not better, some beats and set pieces feels too similar.. the deal with leo scene fees like rehash of the bar scene in inglorious, etc

stil crazy to see slaves owners getting shot over some tupac, that’s real

Inglorious basterds opening scene is one of the most perfect, nail biting moments in modern cinema

    I totally get that.

The "I Got A Name" sequence is one of my favorite montages ever.

The thing that always bugged me the most was Schulz shooting Calvin at the end, right when Django and Broomhilda had just gotten their freedom. I always saw it as self indulgent, like his white guilt caught up to him at the exact wrong time, but watching it again I realized that Calvin had already made up his mind...they were gonna shake on it and then he'd kill them all anyway.

Exactly, you can see how it works as one film, but also separated , which is wild to me
Kinda makes me sad that we might not see that full version

Calvin was never gonna let them walk that b******. If Schulz character hadn't acted there and then their fate would've been sealed. He took one for the team

felt like a polished glossy caricature of tarantino to me

is that the one from the sixties?

a new take with tarantino unfiltered style and today’s beautiful cinematography (NOT that it wasn’t back then but i mean in terms of hd n scope) would be wild tho

    imagine the final scene

the chase of them in middle of nowhere, you see the sheriffs surrounding them ...

he even started to scout australia for it

I don't think he's actually gonna make that Star Trek movie anymore. I also don't think he's gonna retire lol. I could see him writing a book or two and pulling a Hov though.

I've always wanted to see a 1930s or 40s era gangster pic from him, but whatever he decides to do I'll be excited for.

Another modern day film, going full circle with Reservoir Dogs and Pulp, could be great as well.

    I don’t think he’s actually retiring

It’s just a way for him to think so that he makes sure his next movie is the absolute best idea he has and doesn’t sit there thinking he has an infinite amount of movies he can put out
