The changes this year means people will no longer be counted for multiple purchases. If someone makes 4 Digital purchases of an album it will still be counted as one purchase. AKA BTS and Drake stans can no longer manipulate numbers.
For example if we look at the Weeknds numbers.
Dawn FM did 148k this year when After hours did 440k in 2020.Kendrick going from 600k in 2017 to 320k in 2022 is MEGA.
If we ratio it the same as the weeknd that would be around 1.2M in 2017.
No artist other than Drake, Adele, Taylor swift will be able to break 400k AT MOST & they would need HUGE promotion and have physicals on release too.Just not happening.
Kendrick 320k is MEGA after the Jan 2022 change.

e tWe really going to pretend CLB didn’t get a massive Kanye vs. Drake stimulus? It didn’t need any other rollout. Every single Drake hater I know was up at 12AM scanning CLB for subs and beef commentary.
No one was listening to CLB because of the Kanye stuff, it was listened to because it was a Drake album, this is just clearly not true.

The rules that changed Jan 2022 literally wouldnt affect Drake's sales at all. 562K was from STREAMS only.
CLB only had 40k pure sales.
Youre talking about mass buying of digitals which was not a major component of Drake sales at all.
