I remember Fantano and Dj Akademiks being racists towards NAV for no reason smh

  • LordPrettyFlackoJR

    Aren't they then?

Indians and other south asians are quite racist but still not as racist as East Asians Americans or southeast asians tbh

    It's f***ed up.

The street food videos don't help tho. I won't make accusations on SA for the whole ethnicity based on a few isolated videos but imma def judge based on the food safety.

Also, it doesn't help that indians are extremely racist themselves so any potential allies with other minorities flies out the window when I see you calling me hard R niggas in the comment section.

Also as a black man indians, Asians, and Hispanics have been way more racist towards me in person than white people have ever been 💀

I wonder if they can argue that globalisation has been good for the team but not country or is that dissonance too much for them

That point doesn't generate enough outrage I'm afraid

A bud of mine explained that, in a few words, it is failure to adapt to new culture, and rather bringing the 'bad' parts of their culture into the onboarding land. This is a very broad generalization (wish it could go without saying, but you know). There are tons that do, but are either still the minority, or the minority that refuse to adapt are the ones that get the most circulation on the internet making a bad name for them.

There's also simple racism, and easily impressionable people that don't know anything about anything and are hopping on the bandwagon to hate.

But without engaging with much of this anti-Indian content, I can't say. It makes me super uncomfortable myself, cause I imagine if I were Indian it would make me hate myself and everyone else.

As an Indian myself, imma just say it’s making me closer to deleting twitter more and more every day

What do you really have to lose from doing that though? you have only peace of mind to gain.

At the risk of derailing the topic, anyone notice the rice of open anti-semitism ever since the Israel/Palestine conflict hit the mainstream again?

I wonder these days, if it's even worth getting angry at racists knowing you'll never beat them

It’s a whole trend going on twitter just being blatantly racist towards indians and it’s getting pushed to everyone’s feeds. It’s like elon pushed a button or something lol

  • Aug 31, 2024

the answer is that Indians are the #1 human trafficked demographic into the United States and forced to work in some of the most s*** conditions humanly imaginable. racism against Indians exists to justify these subhuman conditions.

Is there something other than the smell trope?

There's lots of factors. Increasing immigration and cultural conflict, negative portrayals and stereotypes. But I also think it's because the history of colonialism was never taught, so people don't have any sympathy or understanding towards India/Indians for why their society looks the way it does.

Millions were killed, the nation was looted and plundered, and they are still digging their way out of the hole they were left in 77 years ago. The extent of India's richness really isn't understood and the devestation of British rule isn't a widely discussed topic.

So when that sympathetic narrative isn't discussed and you see Indians acting silly on tiktok, you don't see the Indus Valley Civilisation, or the Vedas, or the thousands of years of advanced civilisation that was created by those same people.

I've always disregarded the amount of likes on anything, I'll never be convinced those numbers are real on majority of posts

    But that meme was INSANE

There was worse memes being shared too but the account ended up getting suspended. Just look up “indian” on twitter and you’ll get an idea of what’s been going on

Definitely, there has been an attempt to hijack the liberation movement by facists online who conflate Judaism with Zionism, and people who don’t know better amplify braindead conspiracy theories just because they see a Palestinian flag in a post or username. S*** is disgusting
