yeah, but let's be honest, when your debut album is a CLASSIC everybody is gonna expect every subsequent album to be a masterpiece.

Some rappers were able to follow it up with classics in their own right. (Ye, Em, Ice Cube, Ghostface, Clipse, etc.) Nas did that with It Was Written.

Then you have others that weren't able to top or match it. (50, Snoop, Jay, Raekwon, Scarface, etc.)

I can only imagine the stress and pressure Nas experienced around that time.

He has evolved in different ways since those albums. Early Nas didn't have a One Mic. He didn't have a Dance or a Cherry Wine. It's not like you can only hear those 2 albums and think you know Nas lol.
