    Synopsis

    Lol

Why've you quoted me for this

  • May 12, 2020

For me personally, I know I have ancestors who could not vote and there is a systematic push for people like me not to vote, so I take voting very seriously.

I agree with OP and will probably vote third party. Not voting in my opinion is equivalent to seeing the country collapse and remaining silent while it happens.

Voting third party shows a clear distrust in both major parties and a desire for an alternative option. No politician or political party listens to non-voters

Corrected the English if that’s what you mean, but no. If you really think voting between 2 people with the same ultimate goals will make a difference in our society, then you’re ignorant.

They do not have the same ultimate goals. That's ignorant.

Every president will keep supporting the banks and the military, and will pretend to be unable to help with the concerns of American people.

Are you happy with our government? The way our country is run? Have you ever seen a president bring lasting change? stop defending a system that will never help you

So your solution is not to vote and risk another 4 years of Trump? That is not the answer.

Im not from the US. I dont have a direct stake in your election nor your system. But the magnitude is obvious. And if you examine their policies, behaviour, the company they keep, their record, personal statements and all else you will decipher a hefty difference between Biden and Trump. Playing possum is inherently worthless as an act of rebellion.

I don't vote because I have faith in my fellow Americans to make the right decision

what’s changed since trump was in office? Or when Obama was in office? what will Biden will do different from trump?

The president has been a figure head for television since jfk. Including trump.

I’m not voting on the grounds my interest aren’t being represented, in a representative democracy nothing is wrong with that

Not voting is your choice (and there's nothing wrong with it) but I urge you to make a decision, not to sound corny but it gets your voice heard. Even one vote can bring change. Remember that you can still vote for Bernie regardless of who the DNC and RNC are trying to push on us.

Vote for Bernie and show them who the people's real choice is, I know i will. But if you genuinely like the others then by all means, at least you'd be voting.

You're really this stubborn that you're gonna choose to die on this hill defending Trump?

Complete erosion of effective checks and balances. Redirecting of taxpayer funds for personal gain. Using the office and the connections and privileges it enables for personal gain. Stoking white supremacy. Destructive tariff policies. Manipulating elections and voter rights. Manipulating media and accountability. Exposing whistleblowers. Pardoning criminals, paedophiles, scum of the earth. Turning the DoJ into a facet of the executive branch. Dropping charges against a traitor. Botching a global pandemic response.

You think you're making some lofty point by acting aloof and jaded but you're not. You're in a minority and if you dont vote nobody gives a s***. You gain nothing. And all this change you act like you want to make is hypocritical if you dont start with the most basic and obvious of opportunities being presented to you.

You can vote for Bernie in the remaining primaries if you're in that state. He is not a candidate in November.

You mustn't be aware but we can write in anyone here in the US. I could put my name or Bugs Bunny down if I wanted too. I know Bernie suspended his campaign but nonetheless I will be voting for him come November time. Every vote counts and I'll make sure mine goes to the cause that I fully believe in.

Right but its a spoilt vote. It doesnt count for anything. Just gets tossed out.

All votes for Bernie in November do not count unless he filed to be a write in, they're tossed out. Still counted and shown but tossed out.

I would highly encourage supporting Howie Hawkins, who has the Socialism USA nomination and is about to secure the Green Party nom.

F*** trump. they really got the rest of the world brainwashed on this 2 party bs too? I never even insinuated I’m pro trump.

There already were no checks or balances. Tax payer money has been being laundered into billionaires pockets for decades. Every politician uses their leverage in their office to nail down a cushy job for post-term. Team red and blue have both been meddling in election numbers for decades. America has always treated whistleblowers like s***. Tbh I can’t speak too much on the rest of the theatre you mentioned, but none of that s*** affects me as an American citizen.

Can I ask where you are from? I can’t figure out why my government’s d*** is in your mouth.

It's not wrong. Your values will never be accounted for if you just vote for any candidate without getting anything back for it besides him not being another guy that's even worse.

parties dont care about voter turnout though they care about winning elections.

if youre looking for the "perfect" candidate you will never vote in your lifetime

find who best represents your values/needs and back them in

Unsurprised you're this stubborn and dense considering your reading comprehension seems to be at an all time low. Nothing I've said infers any awe for your government nor country.

You act like by not voting you are doing something to actively dismantle 'the system'. You are not. Nobody gives a toss about your lack of vote. Skip every election from now to the grave it still won't matter. If you cant see the wood from the trees in regards to the last 4 years thats on you. The evidence is there. This last 4 years has not seen a political landscape anywhere near normal. To not vote is abiding by that. Trust that it will only get worse with another 4 years.

And no, checks and balances have not always been a failure. American politics has never so activiely positioned itself as partisan. Its never so brazenly sought foreign election interference. Nor leveraged their power as a form of blackmail over an ally. Nor alienated near enough every key ally. Never gone to this length reversing key climate change mitigation steps. Never have charges been dropped against someone who pled guilty to lying to the FBI and vice president. Never has the idea of absolute immunity been used so widely. The steps to a dictatorship are right before you.

Vote out Trump. Vote out the GOP wherever you can. This is bigger than you and the frankly selfish and pathetic argument that by not voting you are not partaking in 'the system'. You're only not partaking if you emigrate. And even then, the trickle down effect of US policy on other nations is immense. Not to mention you could still be paying debts even from abroad. The privilege of voting that you have is a privilege. You think your system is as bad as it gets? You're lucky comapred to so many other nations. The idea of anything even bordering on free and fair elections is a pipe dream to them. Your current position is one of arrogance and anti-intellectualism. Hope you see whats unquestionably right by November. It is objective at this point.

But the president isn’t the person making these things happen.. it’s a train that’s been going this direction since the early 1900s, through the 70s, and now. Yes it’s worse than it’s ever been, but post hoc ergo proptor hoc. just because A and B is true does not mean A caused B.

Do you know about the Federal reserve? It’s a privately owned business with unnamed stakeholders that decides how much money we have in our economy.

A non-government agency owned by unknown people literally controls our economy. They create debt. Then they demand our taxes in order to pay off the debt they created. Then they claim the tax money is going towards services that help the taxpayers. It’s theft disguised as a naturally fluctuating economy.

The only recent candidate Ive heard demanding to end the fed was Ron Paul, but we didnt get to vote for him. I imagine we’ll never get to vote for a candidate that speaks out against the existence of the fed.

If you really don’t care what I do, feel free to stop responding. You just keep insulting my intelligence as if my beliefs are backed by nothing but pure ignorance.

-Someone who does not actually know or ever attempted to google how the Federal Reserve works but decided to post about it anyway

Also lol @ Ron Paul. This is the species of voter that posts online. Caping for Ron Paul lmao. Meme voters are a plague
    Also scapegoating the Fed.

Your beliefs are literally backed up by nothing but pure ignorance. You are the archetype of the stupid internet voter who votes based on conjecture that you haven't researched that affirms your world view.

You know 0 about the Federal Reserve but felt the need to spot a list of talking points you have yet to investigate on a public forum.
