It's boring. There's like no memorable songs, zero memorable lines outside of humble, the lyricism isn't special, mediocre beats.
It's just not a good album. 4/10 at best. S*** gets worse with every listen.

It's a huge downgrade for Kendrick and it's the most overrated rap album of all time, I guess that's where the hate mostly comes from. People wouldn't be mad if it wasn't for critics to overrate the s*** out of what is obviously his worst album

Relative to the actual quality of the record DAMN is the most overrated rap album ever. S***'s got 95 on Meta which would make it one of the 10-20 greatest albums of all time based on critical reception which everyone knows it is not. The thing has won a Pulitzer as the first rap album of all time and people call it an undeniable classic based on this acclaim while I think its quality is pretty debatable. I actually side with Fantano on this. As much as I differ with him sometimes he's the biggest voice when it comes to critics outside the corporate circle of professional journalists and he gave it a 7 which seems absolutely fair.
