landlord was fed up with him harassing about switching to capitalism
For example, during the George Floyd protests, you had a lot of people hand wringing over the fact that small, local businesses might get looted or destroyed. Similarly, when discussions of minimum wage arise, you get the bad faith actors talking about how it would ruin small businesses who can't afford it and would go out of business or see their profit margins drop significantly.
But why should anyone care about that? These small businesses are really just there reproducing exploitation and inequality on a smaller scale and sometimes in an even more insidious way because they try to draw employees in with that "we're a family here" crap while paying them even worse than a big brand might.
In the end, small business owners are seeking to do the same thing as big business; that being to increase their profits as much as possible, which naturally entails heightened levels of exploitation wherever possible. There is nothing noble about them just because they only have a certain amount of employees, or because they only exist in your neighborhood.
If you ever ran a small business then you'd understand. This is like when guys who don't get p**** ask why get married or even have sex/relationships with women when divorce and breakup rates are sky high.
There are more layers to what you're aware of. You don't know what it's like to scale a business. You've never experienced a "slow business" day. You've never been screwed over an opportunity that impacts you and your employees pockets.
Ofc I also have to remind myself you're a mediocre celtic fan who only one Lucky ring in the past 30+ years. Trash ass average ran business and team.
Why don't you approach the celtics with your ideals and watch former Ainge and now "Coach Braddd" slam that door on your commie ass lol
Hey look at your last Finals appearance.

A key point of small businesses is to offer quality services at niche rates. There's way more to this topic then the 2d perspective you're approaching it with

The George Floyd argument is valid imo. Destroying/looting a small business cause somebody dies is NOT cool. You just tearing down your own community of someone who worked hard to build that.
Niggas only argument to justify it was “businesses can be brought back, lives can’t” or some bullshit like that which doesn’t justify it at all.

I mean that truthfully is how it goes lol
granted it can be more rewarding

You preach against big corporations exploiting the common man but when the common man starts their own small business it's bad too?!
Just say you want s*** handed to you man

Yea that's all planned. The location of the protests are in opportunity zones. The destruction of small businesses within the protested paths are apart of a larger real estate plan.
If you live in a major city, google the opportunity zone of your city, then laugh at how well organized these riots were
99/100 the ppl that bring it up don’t actually care about small businesses
they only care when they’re using them for an argument
you won’t ever hear them talk about other things that affect small businesses

There’s a saying this old man told me. He said if you’re running your own business than you’re broke. But if the your business is running YOU then you made some good money.
Entrepreneurship is for the workaholic who simply wants the book to be written by his own rules instead of following someone else’s.

"wants the book to be written by his own rules instead of following someone else’s."
accurately sums up the entire reason for my direction
I can't f***ing deal with being told what to do, granted I am in a sense by a customer but it's different.
Super wise old guy lol

@op didn't think this through.
The only thing I can say about this is that these small business should be giving back to be communities that they benefit from and help make they “dreams” come true
If they gave enough back I’m sure the neighborhood as a whole would’ve protected them during riots and s***. If they ain’t giving back
