It’s an immature perspective to think everything is cultural appropriation. Some times someone/something does it better and the imitation is form a flattery or an authentic upgrade to a way of living. English is a cold soulless language. I think it’s natural if something were to come along, particularly with the pride that melanated people have for what we’ve done with the English language, it would be hard to resist incorporating that into what could be perceived as lesser forms of vibrant communication.

Sure there’s an argument to be made that once they have the language/culture they pimp out, and I agree with it, but I don’t think everything is about steal steal steal.

If we were to operate from that perspective pretty much every artist is a thief and cultural appropriator.

I use “ebononics” sometimes, but not consciously, and at least for me it is just because the way of speaking is present in culture/society and it just kind of made its way into my vernacular.
