The best part about KTT is black people who think they're the only black person on the website, so they try to tell YOU that you're white

    lmfao

    YEZZY YEEZY HAAAAN

Because the white/european music mindset values virtuosity over everything whereas music is more of a life tool passed down in African cultures

A lot of white people always need to be impressed by music they don’t know how to just enjoy it and trust their own feelings

This translates to super white people being drawn to rappity rap that’s easy to be impressed by and easy to see the value of abstractly, instead of more enjoyable music

Edit: this is basically a summary of an explanation Quincy Jones gave I didn’t come up with this

this might be the best post itt

Niggas would rather listen to Uzi rap about being on a slave contract and cars they’ll never drive than hear Kendrick Kanye or Jay Z give them the keys to spiritual mental and financial freedom

  • the thing about people bringing up street rap is that it's a lot more proportionate

black and white people equally fw street rap for the most part.

when it comes to that black empowerment s*** the fanbase is overwhelmingly white. most people not tryna hear them snoozy bars

Appealing to white people doesn’t mean it was made for them. Tons of kids like GTA. Was it made with kids in mind? No

  • Mar 6, 2020

    The honest answer is this

it’s all relatively to where u grow up and how you were raised and what you were around that’s for both sides some black ppl don’t like tpab or kendrick at all really it’s weirdo s*** some love him and think he’s moving the black culture forward obviously the latter is gonna be more well represented on the internet but both sides exist and no one is truly wrong

it’s also the same for white people both sides exists for various reasons but i’m not a C***so i can’t speak on tht

it’s literally not a black and white thing
