Brodie wants to go to a party and dance to Atrocity Exhibition and Earl Sweatshirt
"I've studied the entire history of music. And for the most part, the good stuff is the popular stuff. Show me a guy who says he doesn't want to be popular, and I'll show you a scared guy. It's easy to say popularity sucks, because that allows you to forgive yourself if you suck. And I don't forgive myself. Do you?"
Idk if you guys are joking or not but this conversation is really so pathetic
At the end of the day all you’re doing is s***ting on people for not having the same taste as you. If someone is confident and happy with the music they listen to, does it really matter what it is or where it came from?? Genuinely who gives a s*** if someone gets their daily music intake from Spotify playlists? Not everyone has to be a dedicated music enthusiast and dig around RYM for their next album listen, and to bash people for that is so weird lmfao. I’m not a casual listener by any means but the amount of straight circlejerking ITT by self proclaimed tastemakers or whatever tf you guys are calling yourselves is awful
This is the worst take, Great music "High Art' Is more important and needs to be separated and recognized over bullshit garbage that exists and is promoted.
kiss me on the lips why don't you, you fiend
smooch smooch
It depends on my viewpoint. If I hold longevity as supreme, then I can say Lebron is better
If I hold championships, and overall MVPs as supreme as well as scoring titles, then I can say Jordan.
At least we have those things though to go off of.
Nah to really compare something everything else has to be equal, So it's impossible to compare the two since they would have to play in the exact same team, play against the same players, same era etc
Of course u can look at titles and scoring to make an assessment but there is no way of knowing who truly is the best player - its all just opinions backed by statistics that aren't really comparable

because capitalist society and our dogshit arts education forces people to equate popularity with quality

basically this
I don't think no one says that except fanboys of certain artists.
One of the worst songs I ever heard in my life is "Dance Monkey". God, that song gives me nausea.

I only consume the finest Criterion Channel crafts and exclusively listen to the most critically acclaimed albums (where as I demand a minimum average rating of 3.78 of the album on RateYourMusic, a 90% score on Metacritic and a 8.4 Pitchfork rating).
I can say I don’t like Lebron’s play style even if it gives results
Similarly, someone can say they don’t like Prince’s music despite his incredible talent
There’s a difference between not enjoying the end product and totally disregarding what talent the character possesses
Right, but here's the point:
I wouldn't say my taste is better than yours because you like Lebron and I don't
I wouldn't say my opinion on hoop is better than yours just because I like Steph more than Lebron.
That's what OP is getting at.
who decides whats hgh art lmao
