You have jump through hoops to defend the ambiguity of Bible when I’m asking for you to provide comparative arguments against the Quran, within the Bible’s favor. There is no better fundamental basis for the validity of a document than having a direct link of source to author to final document.
This above is again all irrelevant because the benchmark is the other religion we’re comparing it to. You’re trying to present an argument here to support the degree of validity that we can attest to the Bible based on the historical assessment methods you’ve described.
This still pales in comparison and leaves much larger margin for error/risk compared to what I mentioned with Islam. You’re not presenting me with new information with regards to epistemology and different principles of that field. It’s just a defense for Christianity when the argument I was engaging with is Christianity versus Islam. You cannot in good faith argue to me that the Bible is more verifiable in its origins versus the Quran (from original primary source/author to document). The principles of historical contextual a***ysis at best help defend the Bible’s validity from being completely null, but that’s all it is — a defense. It does little to help strengthen its case against Islam.
You really chose to ignore the main point here because honestly the only wat this discussion was gonna be fruitful was if you could tell me how the Bible’s validity despite all of this was greater than the Qurans.
Best wishes to you all the same.
Just take the L and move on bro
Just take the L and move on bro
What L, he had no argument for me it was just one strawman
The argument is Quran vs Bible and not one person could present anything showing anything favorable for the Bible versus the Quran

Stop embarrassing yourself bro.
I’ve read through the entire thread already.
Anyone with half a brain can see that his arguments were more concise and logical than yours.
Hey @op I was raised muslim and stopped believing at age 19. Let me know if you want to talk.

Ironic he never argued the actual point and seems like you lacked the reading comprehension to see the actual topic and original discussion of the thread. I asked multiple times and it was never addressed directly.
Spending 8 paragraphs to defend the ambiguity of Bibles compilation history does nothing to argue in its favor against the Quran and its direct history of origin and lineage.
But again no one argued against my actual point because they couldn’t. His post can be summed as “ohhhh you should made that more clear that was your argument” when it was pretty self evident lol. Nice to know you see unnecessary and irrelevant details outside of the actual argument as being logical and concise points.
It’s quite embarrassing cause it’s a thread about Islam be Christianity and no one can argue the point from both ends of religions actually being compared.
No one debunk the Birmingham manuscripts
No one can question the validity in superior historical documentation in origins of the Quran over the Bible
Disregarding the impact of language and translation is idiotic and will be laughed out of any academic conference

You never gave me a response, on why the Quran written 600 years after Jesus is a more trustworthy source than the gospels of the New Testament.
You never gave me a response, on why the Quran written 600 years after Jesus is a more trustworthy source than the gospels of the New Testament.
Because the gospels were based upon oral history regardless and the entire point in the religion of Islam is that the practice of Christianity within the Middle East at the time was it had become misconstrued along with Judaism
Within the second century its accepted by scholarship that there were a number of significant revisions to the New Testament after was written anywhere from 70 to 100 years after the death of Jesus the exact time frame which isn’t even confirmed mind you
To understand why the Quran more valid it’s to also understand the entire fundamental basis of Islam which is the Quran was sent down by God as a final message to rectify the innovations of Christianity which had altered their original faith too significantly
To believe in the Quran and have faith and Islam is to believe in the message of the prophet Mohammed peace be upon him.
Where you can compare the actual two religions fairly is in their inception and the creation of the holy books of which Islam is very directly evidenced. With the Quran you have dates of narrations you have exactly who was annotating different revelations from the profit at various instances in his life with dates.
And with the revealing of the Quran came the message which the prophet shared regarding Islam’s version of the old and New Testament. This revelation was shared amongst Christians Jews and other people of the region who were very close and familiar with the oral history of Judaism and Christianity and I had a much stronger and better idea of it most likely than modern day Christians are Jews. And despite the fact that the prophet was uneducated and illiterate man he was able to preach a precise and historically sound version of the Old Testament.

Ok so it’s on faith based. Jesus and Muhammad are historical people I choose to trust the scripture that was written during the time of Jesus not 600 years later. Not based on faith but based on historical evidence
Wowww not daddy Longstroke
Ok so it’s on faith based. Jesus and Muhammad are historical people I choose to trust the scripture that was written during the time of Jesus not 600 years later. Not based on faith but based on historical evidence
And you’re also choosing to accept to follow and place the basis of your faith on a book that is filled with ambiguity and was compiled by people very much separated from the foundation of your religion
And even without considering the fact that this is indeed true that there is a significant dwgree of separation between Jesus, what his followers preached, and what was disseminated from by followers of the apostles — again comes the fragmentation of the religion.
You’re not following the words of Jesus by following the Bible. As a religion, the Quran mentioned Jesus more than any other profits of the Abrahamic religions and follows through with his teachings of miracles and who he was.
The pitfalls of the Bible are indeed facts, With Christianity you have to put the faith that countless spheres of influence did not materially alter your book/scriptures
You also have to put the faith that teachings of Jesus in Aramaic we’re not lost significantly either.
There’s significant differences between the Greek Orthodox Bible Eastern Catholic Bible Ethiopian Bible and others that people don’t talk about and these are all the English translations
There’s a reason why the Quran was revealed in Arabic and why Muslims are taught to read it in Arabic and not in English, the true meaning would never be conveyed otherwise and anyone who speaks both languages can attest to this.
Islam as a religion is obviously based of course on faith but it is a faith based on the factual failings of Christianity, and God’s intention to send another prophet to remedy it.
If these challenges and pitfalls of Christianity hadn’t in the 1st place,
Islam wouldn’t have been necessary and even if you’re not a Muslim and don’t believe God had sent another messenger and the Quran down, you still rationally see that the religion will never would have grown if it wasn’t for the faults that existed within Christianity and Judaism and the disillusionment the believers of that region had at the time with those religions
(Sorry for grammar and punctuation, issuing speech to text)
Most of this s*** including others like Cathlic, Judaism, Buddhism n Jehova Witness etc.came from the same source then skewed to align with the attitude & goals of the day
Youre just going to be running in circles if you dont accept it blindly which is partly why questioning is looked down upon
Better to just go with than have existential crisis to most that follow.
Also idk for Muslim but for Christianity a good part of the stories are seen as just stories/allegories/lessons while others are considered literal real factual events.

It’s evident that you’re very delusional in your beliefs and ironically are proving OP’s point
!dream Christians and Muslims praying together

Christians don’t act like this. They are open to change because they acknowledge that their books were written by humans after being inspired by God/Jesus
That’s why the church accepted evolution after many years
Islam is a special religion. They believe the Quran are the literal words of Allah that Muhammad wrote down while being spoken to. So to change the Quran is to change the actual word of god. Whatever is written in there is exactly as Allah said
!dream Christians and Muslims praying together

looks like a scene from human centipede 3

You are 100% correct. Quran has not changed since its inception and because it was revealed 600 years later than Christianity writing down history was much more common then and details of the prophet's life are recorded.
That is why the revelations in Quran should be cross checked with the events of the time to be better understood.
It’s evident that you’re very delusional in your beliefs and ironically are proving OP’s point
OP agreed with my viewpoint
Good job reading said thread
OP agreed with my viewpoint
Good job reading said thread
Your point is 100% correct. Quran is unaltered and the details of the events surrounding the revelations are recorded. OP should read the Quran and cross check everything with the events of the time. Then he can make up his mind on whether or not Quran is the direct words of Allah.
For example if @OP chooses for his daughter to wear the hijab and burka he should know that Muhammad (PBUH) ordered women to wear the veil only because one of his wives went to defecate and Muhammad's (PBUH) creepy friend recognized her.
Sahih Bukhari 1:4:148
" The wives of the Prophet used to go to Al-Manasi, a vast open place (near Baqia at Medina) to answer the call of nature at night. 'Umar used to say to the Prophet "Let your wives be veiled," but Allah's Apostle did not do so. One night Sauda bint Zam'a the wife of the Prophet went out at 'Isha' time and she was a tall lady. 'Umar addressed her and said, "I have recognized you, O Sauda." He said so, as he desired eagerly that the verses of Al-Hijab (the observing of veils by the Muslim women) may be revealed. So Allah revealed the verses of "Al-Hijab" (A complete body cover excluding the eyes)"
About the same Umar since most Muslims love to say Hijab is all about modesty:
Musannaf Ibn Shaybah 6236: Anas reported: ‘Umar once saw a slave-girl that belonged to us wearing a scarf, so Umar hit her and told her: ‘Don’t assume the manners of a free woman."
Sunan Bayhaqi 2/227: Anas bin Malik said: ‘The slave-girls of Umar were serving us with uncovered hair and their breasts shaking”
It’s evident that you’re very delusional in your beliefs and ironically are proving OP’s point
U so mad i can feel it
