thank god your opinion has no value
Bro don’t have no classics. S*** don’t bump like these other legends.
Also 8 Mile is a dog s*** movie looking back
Whole thing is some “white mans burden” s*** coupled with a racist ass “they’re taking our women” subtext
Because he’s been f***ing trash for years and him and his fans still think he’s hot s*** and they literally won’t accept any kind of criticism towards him
people hate on him here because of "real hip hop/rap is like a mountain" type fans hyping him up despite him being trash for the most part for the past 10 years. plus you got some people on here who are white/non black that like to hate on him to fit in
People are hard on people who are successful on here especially.
But also Eminem stans the worst.
They most definitely get a hard time knock it off. Jay Z, Nas, Lil Wayne, and Ghostface to name a few have all gotten their "They fell off, it's over" licks over time. The thing is they eventually came back and dropped either solid albums or went on a hotstreak of great features on pretty big albums.
Eminem gets a hard time because he literally been dropping absolute dogshit and has yet to make a whole project that's actually good and worthwhile to go back to.
Tbh. the real rampant blatent racism that was going on with his fans was wild at that time. I remember seeing memes literally calling Wayne a monkey in 08
Eminem also had this image of being this untouchable diss artist but then you look back and who did he beef with?
Fred Durst, ICP, Christina Agulera, Mariah Carey.
Only real beef he ever had was with Benzino (bc he was team 50) and even then Benzino was at least 7-8 years past his peak at that point.
Yo those name to eachother is hilarious
His hate comes from a combination of his fanbase (the primary factor), latter flows being almost caricature-like, him being white in a predominantly black field, lyrics aging badly (even if they are from classic projects), and a younger generation of people making opinions on him without living through his era. Dude is a legend even as someone who doesn’t really like his music that much it’s undeniable as a fan of hip hop
I dont like the scare the hoes argument
But eminem music legit scares the hoes except for a certain demographic

My hot take is that eminem is purely a product of marketing and being a decent enough rapper to live up to it
Central Cee lowkey the new eminem tbh if you’re in europe

See now folks saying anything 8 mile a dog s*** movie? I’ve never heard that until now
If Em wouldve blew up in 2020 instead of 2000 i think everybody woulda realized he was just a industry plant and not the goat ya love to say he is
Overrated just because he white fr reason i hate Em is for the way white people and fans like @BlackSlug was gassin up rapgod when that s*** dropped smdh
Plus yeah he's always somehow in the top 5/10 catagory when like op said at MOST he has 3 classics.
How many other albums he dropped now? How you gonna be the goat when 70% of your career at this point been straight up ass
You'll have cats try and say Nas ain't in the top 5 cause he dropped bad albums (imo he only got three genuinely bad projects the rest are either great or just okay) but somehow Eminem is allowed to be in the top 5 despite dropping steady mid since 2004.
A lot of legends fell off but we never give them a hard time for it
I don’t think any legend has ever fallen off as hardly as Eminem has combined with a fanbase that still thinks everything they release is better than everyone else in the game.
You can’t even say Kanye because of the whole “Old Ye” narrative, whereas most Em fans genuinely believe that his last 3 projects are quality music
Because since 2002 he has only 1 album people consider good (Relapse)
Thats 21 years releasing ass
Also his music aged really bad like it or not, and his fanbase has stained his image
??? Mmlp2 was well received. I'd say it was pretty good. Past 2 were ok but we need another banger album
But nah on the real Eminem has dropped absolute mid or trash albums literally throughout all the 2010s, and his delusional stanbase who hardly listen to many other rappers besides him and maybe 50 Cent and Dr Dre put him on this pedestal of artists who can do no wrong when to be honest...he really peaked early af in his career.
To put it simply, bro just hasn't made good music since 2004. Yes since 2004. Some of y'all can cling to Relapse as much as ya want but that s*** was mid too. Just because it was better than everything he dropped after doesn't automatically make it a great album. At it's very best, it was just subpar.
Bro you made valid points.
Then you called relapse mid.
Dre beats. Actual great flows. Cool storytelling. Some of his most creative imagery. Cool skits. How you gonna call it mid? Hello, Stay Wide Awake, Must Be The Ganja, Old Times Sake, Deja Vu are all slammers
I will give Em credit though, to me, he's probably one of the best and most underrated rapper-producers in hip-hop. His production discography is stellar.
Real tho
He produced most of eminem show if I'm not mistaken
A lot of legends fell off but we never give them a hard time for it
Realest post so far. Thus was my point. Look at Jay and Wayne? They still have dope moments but are also older and clearly ain't at their peak yet they get way less hate. It's just cause em became an easy target. Which maybe some of the criticism is justified but it's kinda lame to hate on anything he does just cause he's eminem

Eh he was still killing it on features up until at least 2007. But after that yeah mostly been mid/trash with a few highlights here and there

Relapse just ain't do it for me. I always felt why listen to Relapse when I can listen to SSLP, MMLP, or TES which are kinda in line with Relapse, but are much better
Even on those weaker albums he still shows skills that prove he’s still above the rest
It’s just a shame his musical ear has deteriorated
Good post
I think he still got it in him tho.
Remember that dre collaboration from a few years ago? Or bad guy? I think he can do it but he's gotta dig deeper

Forgetting Ja Rule and Canibus beefs

He’s 50 years old. It’s over at this point man lol. Even if he wanted to the same energy just don’t exist at that age anymore
