It depends on whether you give more value to who did it first or who took it to the next level.

Personally I have a hard time putting Kendrick over Cube. It just doesn’t feel right because Cube's output just personifies west coast more than Kendrick’s imo.
In a West Coast Goat debate I would put Cube over Kendrick but in a general Goat debate Kendrick would be much higher than Cube.

In no way shape or form are y'all seriously putting Kendrick over Tupac Shakur. And Pac is East Coast so he doesnt count, but please

I swear hes become the most underrated rapper. There is no comparison. Maybe Wayne being suddenly outside the top 10 all time but Wayne didn't have the bullet proof prime Cube had. Cube inspired a lot of the GOATs and itt they talking about him like he's The D.O.C (shoutout DOC too )

i wonder how kendrick would feel if someone suggested hes more of a legend than ice f***ing cube

Pac is #1 all time, regardless of Coast but I agree with your last point. Just didn't want to include Pac cause then there's no thread

cube going from being a massive rap star into a full on mainstream acting career is one of the craziest feats any rapper has pulled. hes the goat rapper actor

That helped him overall but certainly hurt his rap career and legacy. Back then being “real” and “authentic” was huge. Biting was treasonous, being original was key etc.. why Common won his beef with Cube. After the movies the aura wasn’t quite the same. And that’s in the 90s. Now the movies have sort of overshadowed his rap career to younger generations lol

The b**** in yooo was late 1996 Pac died literally 2 days later after its release prime Cube 1988-1993. One of the highest primes ever. And why the hostility?

Y'all such huge Kendrick stans y'all can't even imagine ICE CUBE, one of Kendrick's biggest inspirations, being on the same level?

    bro it was a prank

calling people who disagree with you stans is the same hostility tho. I love Cube and he's criminally underrated so I'm happy to see him praised on here. but as you said his prime was 88-93. that is just five years bro

maybe this makes me a stan but Kendrick been in his prime for at least 10 years now

That’s my point. Kendrick been in the worst era ever. He ain’t been in the limelight for so long because he’s so much better than every rapper before him (same with Drake). It’s that before there was always a new goat waiting in the wings to take over. There are no new goats in sight. So what you get is Drake, Kendrick, Future, even Kanye still being relevant in the mainstream 15 years after their debut.

  • Does Kendrick have a War Of the Worlds?

eh idk about that. Jay-Z had a 10+ year run, Nas did too, hell even Common. why didn't Cube?

Kendrick been in the limelight so long because he's one of the best at crafting albums. maybe there aren't now but in the 2010s there were new goats waiting (Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak, Travis) but they just weren't able to craft albums on the same level so Kendrick stayed on top

If Jay been on a 10+ year run then Cubes run was 20. Jay stalled out early 10s and he started in 96. Cube was still putting out hit records mid to late 00s and he started in 86 and Jays late career hits were due to features. Cube had several solo hits in his 40s!

Yalll need to respect Cube more. Plain and simple
