S***, Frank Ocean has said The Dream's music was a major influence for Pyramids of all tracks. What? Abel thinks he's too good to be influenced by one of the best R&B artists of the late 2000s to early 2010s who was frequently copied and wrote for most of the industry back then?

Which is why this is dumb cause Weeknd is a currently big Super Bowl performing artist the only way Dream wins is if none of Weeknds global fanbase doesn't show up.

Exactly. Not even close to the same world. The Dream is up there with T-Pain, Usher, Trey Songz. They're legacy acts now and aren't as popular as the used to be. That doesn't mean people don't listen to their old hits especially old people
If you want to do a pop Abel verzuz you could try and argue one vs Taylor Swift, Adele, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran but he isn't winning that either those are huge fan bases he's competing with
A fair comparison for The Weeknd would be PND, Tory Lanez, Bryson Tiller, those guys but not just because they're all from Canada. He actually might have a shot and I could see him beating Tiller or Lanez depending on the crowd
