Depends on what you’re looking for tbh. If you’re looking for classic jazz, then I’d recommend Kind of Blue and Round Bout Midnight. If you’re into some experimental s***, then check out In a Silent Way or Live-Evil

EDIT I’d also recommend Miles Smiles. That was the first album I ever heard from him and still one of my personal favorites tbh.

Ik it’s a bit overrated but there’s a reason why it’s considered the greatest jazz album ever(even if I prefer many other albums in his discog)

Get Up With It was a purely random first listen with no context or reference and it’s my favorite album of all time I think.

Some highlights from the set @sfsorrow

Thank you for this man i really appreciate it, i took some time to smoke and listen. I went through all of these and i love them, but i especially The Hen. The progression and percussion on that song is f***ing insane, i’m honestly surprised it didn’t make the cut. I also love that synth(?) on Hip-Skip and I can for sure tell Minnie is from Get Up With It era/lineup. I found this on streaming so i’m probably gonna go through the rest that’s not tracks off other projects but these are so crazy

Side note. Related to the title of the song Minnie. I believe almost every black person knows a Minnie. Minnie ofc coming from the south and slavery, is a Hebrew name. I’ve always wondered why our elders always called someone Minnie. I’ve heard about em my whole life lol things like Minnie and Kum By Yah. Why were they speaking Hebrew?

This is taken from a strongs concordance Bible app: E-Sword. I typed in Minnie and this showed up.

I mean i’m white so i definitely am not aware of this tbh. I always thought Minnie was a stand-alone name like Minnie Riperton, who’s name is really Minnie. I had no idea it was used as a short form of different names like that
