He is lowkey overrated as rapper tbh, amazing artist tho, arguably top 5 of all time in that department

American Gangster is on the same level as Views to me. But that's just me. Maybe it's cause I was in high school in the south when it released but I remember me and the people I knew not really f***ing with the direction of that album at the time. It didn't help that it dropped during Wayne's run. It was just really not the type of s*** we were tryna hear. It's dope now though.

And I don't really consider 4:44 when comparing Jay's discog to Drake's because Drake hasn't had a chance to reach that point in his career. A lot of his fans want him to make a 4:44 type album but we'll see if he ever does. I think Drake's current career goes up until BP3? At that point I think their discographies are pretty similar

Vol 3 is debatable even tho it’s my least favorite Volume, it’s a lot of people’s favorite jay album I wouldn’t put it with those other ones

The other 4 I can give you but I feel like they’re overhated, mid to jay standards but not mid in general. Kingdom Come aged well and BP3 did what it was supposed to

Agreed it’s cool for what it is and an important part of his catalog. The only jay album I would truly call mid is MCHG, everything else has redeeming qualities

S80 a good album but it has a lot of filler and songs that didn’t age that well, it’s highs tho

It actually has a lot of joints and I really liked the bars at the time but I do think the direction of it was doing too much
