and the reason being is i could understand if the motivation behind it was genuinely fueled by the quality of music, but it’s legit just this fanbase and this weird ideal they hold of carti and his place in the game as if he was never doing commercial features or moves ever in his career
it be the same niggas who worship that V2 s*** now that were s***ting on stuff like the pain 1993 feat and ultimately caused the abandoning of that era
i really hate how widespread this kind of mentality is nowadays especially within like underground rap because those are still artists trying to establish themselves and it’s literally f***ing impossible when attention spans are so low and ppl get nostalgic from “prime/cash” eras of artists that were often only 1.5-2 years ago
The way I see it is that this might not be his best album but its the album he needed to make right now. Every bigger artist should have their Graduation moment at some point
The next one will probably be more experimental again which is what ktt2 probably wants out of him
