I believed DONDA would drop, then believed the second time, then i believed carti would drop yesterday
Am I actually R****DED, fellas?
Donda did drop those and all the promos were for listening parties anyway, we ainât even get their yet for Carti unfortunately
I mean this is all rooted in subjectivity so whatever, we aren't going to agree but nevertheless. . .
For me though, WLR is superior.
While Die Lit is an extension of an already renowned sound - those breezy, bubbly and bright Pi'erre beats - WLR on the other hand is an artist exploring a sound that was up to that point, largely untapped.
The key difference is that Die Lit does that post-SoundCloud summery trap music sound well (in the wider context of the genre, to me Die Lit has always felt like the swan song moment of that sound), while WLR does its own thing well.
Beyond that, WLR feels like the culmination of Carti as an artist. Sometimes across Die Lit does his voice and persona get obfuscated by the multitude of features, whereas on WLR he stands on his own.
On Die Lit we understood the music, on WLR we begin to understand Jordan Carter
It is no surprise that the final phrase Carti utters on WLR is "fuck all of yall". His transformation into the solitary rockstar he always promised he would become has been fulfilled, and WLR is the narrative of that journey
Cannot believe Cochise and SoFaygo getting put up there with the s*** Carti making thats delusion

bro gotta be trolling
"He's gonna keep being his own mysterious and weird self and be more artsy to make up for the fact that people are honestly outdoing him in some ways."
so much wrong with this sentence
I know trust in Carti is very low due to all his past antics and yesterday with teasing of projects but I think if it was just clothes at a minimum it would have dropped yesterday or his store / a site would started with the clothes. S*** absolutely seems like merch for the tour I wouldnât just assume thatâs what the date was for.
Itâs hard to imagine there was a 3 week rollout just for his bday too when all the other signs were pointing to music being worked on and all the usual artist updates that happen prior to music release (IG wipe, affiliates confirming music being worked on, promo likely teasing music, etc.)
WLR is only 9 months old and Carti hasnât had extensive time to tour that material (especially since public perception has changed to be way more positive since and itâs still hot rn) but it seems like itâs his time to strike while the iron is hot. Tour is coming up, big feature on Ye album, Drake remix of his old song, no other major releases that I know of this week or in the next few up til P*NK release (which is when tour starts anyway), the time is his to capitalize.
And heâs a big artist he isnât really even competing against his affiliates Destroy Lonely or Ken Carson, if anything the press for new Carti music would probably drive attention to Lonely project and the Deluxe for Ken since they are both just starting to take off mainstream wise.
My guess this is just the beginning of the rollout and that some new music will be released soon prior to tour. Otherwise we wonât be getting s*** until after tour (also possible but seems like it makes no sense to wait until hype has gone way down after all the teasing). But who knows WLR is still relatively fresh too for Carti normal release schedule but S/T and Die Lit dropped 13 months apart gotta keep that in mind I doubt Carti has hard dates on when or not to wait to drop.
Weâll see in the upcoming days but Iâm still hopeful for something music wise. Carti isnât the type to drop dates ever and although his track record with teasing music is bad, it absolutely seems like the normal process for beginning of music rollout.
I do have to say tho f*** all the BS yesterday bro really needed to post something, even his previous bdays his circle used to even be around him during his bday and we didnât get any acknowledgement of anything besides that Matthew Williams post way at the end of the day. Just a very weird start to this new era but undeniably Carti none the less.
Anyway,
This is basically how I feel
I'm going to remain optimistic
This feels like the start of a rollout, 4 Fridays until the tour starts, there is time
Idk how anyone could say Die Lit better than WLR. Maybe the argument that it is sonically better to you but WLR got it beat in damn near everything else that matter in actual song/ album quality.

Plenty of time, keeping the hope alive for more news, now that Carti posting again I wouldnât be surprised if we at a minimum heard something this week.
