Is there a link to the actual study itself? I'd like to see the data and sources. 90% white and 5% black seems highly unlikely based on past data

2018 for example

The key here is understanding that Asians are the only race victimized more by other races than their own race.

yea i mean a lot of posters are black and they're used to being demonized and villainized so it strikes a nerve when from the beginning you could tell the whole concept was being coopted by reactionaries and white supremacists to put black people down.

the actual tension between black and asian people in these threads and irl is more symptomatic of the greater internalized racism of both groups that continue to get exploited by white america

everybody needs work but i don't condemn nobody for being mad about being attacked for their race

There's no way to confirm or deny what he's saying. There's no link to the University of Michigan research

Numbers from 2018, if you look at the numbers from 2017 and the numbers from 2019 the rate of victimization of asian is significantly lower. So 2018 isn't the standard

The numbers were so low that they omitted asians out of the interacial victim offender chart and put them with others in the 2019 version. And I can guarantee the numbers in 2020 when they're released is mostly gonna be skewed towards more whites on asians, which is where I'm assuming the researcher from Michigan got her numbers from.

this is the source as of now

npr is a fairly reputable news source they wouldn't go around spreading lies and University of Michigan has a fairly dedicated wing of the Asian Pacific Islander American Studies Program in its Department of American Culture.

the study isn't published as of now and even in the news source she admits the numbers are spotty but the sheer 19:1 ratio as it stands is symptomatic of a larger issue that the thread is about

the question is what do you stand to gain by throwing skepticism at their numbers unprovoked like statistics mean anything to you when you've got such reactionary politics
