Not looking for sympathy but takeoff died 2 weeks after my gf. Music helped me a ton once I was able to care about s*** again, only built for infinity links was special to me. Coworkers kinna forced me to go to a Halloween party to help me socialize and I dressed as a skeleton and bad to the bone was like my song that night, I had a great time and felt like I was starting to see the light again. Waking up to see Takeoff passed felt like it set me back and death and gloom felt like it engulfed my life. His death was totally pointless and I was so excited to see the evolution of the migos after they became stale and then were creating great stuff again
remember exactly where i was when nip died.. at the theater w my friends scrolling twitter during the trailers before jordan peele us

XXXTentacion f***ed me up and I was just a casual not even a real fan
Young Dolph had me stuck, I was a huge fan
Goonew cause of how creepy it was
This was my intro to nip. Iβll give credit to game cause I was still checking for him at the time so I heard this and instantly became a nip fan. F***ed with his bullet ainβt go no name series
!https://youtu.be/ap5c0llkd7E?si=WrCvWC7NxO5Pgp5hGame for as much of a cornball as he is/was always tried to put on rising talent from the west coast
Mac, Dolph and Nipsey the top 3 of the era
DMX and Prodigy of Mobb Deep of older
Pop Smoke didn't hit me "hard" per say but it always makes me feel bad for him dying as soon as he literally JUST got on - I liked him too and felt like on a more "selfish" level I was "robbed" as well
I feel for the East Coast heavy, can only imagine how worst it is over there, and how a lot of momentum was stopped for them as a whole with him gone too
Mac, Pop, and DOOM
Mac and Pop for the potential they had. You could tell Mac was about to hit another level creatively. Grew up on his music too. Pop Smoke just had crazy star potential right out of the gate.
DOOM because of how it happened. It felt like it came out of nowhere. Of course he lived such a private life and his family wanted privacy as well, but he always seemed like this larger than life figure, so for him to pass away on Halloween and have nothing announced publicly until NYE of covid felt really surreal.
Not a rapper but D'angelo also hit me hard asf man
Pop smoke ainβt really made me feel some type of way but that was the most impactful death to the genre his whole sound was about to push boundaries and the whole NY drill scene pretty much died when he did

Ngl I was a huge fan of him before he died, I listened to him every day and on top of that he died the same day as my worst break up but he definitely played a huge role in his own downfall
