    Sonically, it does stick out, but thematically I think it fits in the album's narrative.

    I Can't Wait To Get There is him looking ahead to the future, optimistic about what's to come, and the next three songs feature him reminiscing on past experiences. Then, in Big Sleep the narrative resets before the final stretch of the album

    Thats why I think ICWTGT could be swapped with Closing Night. ICWTGT and Timeless are both braggadocious tracks. Timeless does the bragging better and Closing Night closes the section from the album that started with… wait for it… opening night .

    Timeless not being a Top 10 hit for The Weeknd does not mean that it's not a big hit. He has some of the biggest songs of the 21st Century, not all of them can be Top 10 in his hit catalog. It's like saying a song like NOKIA wasn't big because it's not a Top 10 Drake hit

    Yes. Swap ICWTGT with closing night, it works sonically and the transition is perfect imo

    That song was big for like 1-2 months then started to taper off, but it was absolutely a hit

    There's a Rather Lie demo that was recorded weeks before that, and the AI Lawson sounds noticeably worse than the supposed AI Lawson on Timeless:

    I believe he probably did a Timeless reference track for Carti and put the same AI voice filter over it, but the Timeless that released are Carti's actual vocals just rapping Lawson's reference

    It's really not. What's confirmed is that Lawson used an AI voice filter to record reference vocals for the song.

    There is still zero confirmation that the vocals on the released version is not Carti himself

    you can listen yourself and realize it’s the Lawson vocals on the album, nobody needs to outright tell you “it’s still the Lawson vocals” if you have ears with the ability to hear

    There is no Timeless version with Lawson vocals that leaked online. The version you're referring to is the one with Carti's actual verse and the AI Lawson-Weeknd reference vocals. I've already explained this.

    There is a Rather Lie demo that was recorded around the same time with actual AI Lawson Carti vocals on it, and there is a night and day difference between it and how Carti sounds on Timeless
