I’m being serious as someone who seeing domestic violence is my first memory . They not gonna arrrest and take someone to jail first time especially in situations where both people saying they don’t want to press charges . It’s paper work for the police and complications. They note it and are often times ready in case it happens again . No reason to be delusional. They recommended they stayed separated for the night . Cops take steps to enforce that but its not their job to supervise abusive relationships or convince people to break up
