I can appreciate this listening it through a couple times, great lyrics, production , depth, but like pimp a butterfly , I ain’t rolling around playing these tracks for the next year. These make nice albums to get awards and recognition off, but for me personally , I take gkmc or damn any day of the week 🤷🏻♂️

You are right. I think Kendrick sees Kanye as a leader figure or as a inspiration somewhat because he mentions him pretty often on songs. So thats why he is probably seeing it from that side
