Americans (and the whole west) have been made subservient. There is too much entertainment and distractions around us to ever think about revolting.

The middle class will never revolt because they have too much to lose. Their nice house in the suburbs, their well paying jobs...Its a golden cage but its nice enough for most people to not complain and ignore whatever is happing outside of it.

This situation in Iran feels like a full blown sunk cost fallacy issue on the part of the US and I can’t see the people in charge pulling back for all the good that’ll do (which I gather would be pretty much none because the hornets nest has been throughly kicked at this stage).

It also feels like people either aren’t taking the repercussions of all this seriously or are willfully ignoring them.
