Remember Teal in music sxn? Between him, or like user (many more examples if yall wanna fixate on those) – we had adults with seasoned opinions on music contributing solid posts even if I didn’t like em all. An era where yall didn’t think being disagreeable was a bannable offense
Now there’s kids on here with pitchforks out every thread, crying about “why isn’t this guy banned yet?!” if they find the takes annoying
It’s like there’s been a bigger purge of KTT vets who posted for a decade plus in the past 3 years than anytime before. KTT mods said “these guys are replaceable since they’re just lone bad apples, let’s ban those ideas and it’ll go away”
It was a good social experiment. Turns out a lot of valuable posters got banned for having views shared by most of the human population outside KTT and they’re not getting replaced like that. Not my ship to sink though

yep. mods became absolute lunatics with the bans and ruined the site. ktt suffered badly from the Trump era & its aftermath. the mods got ridiculous and completely overcompensated by banning anything even slightly off-kilter.

i've been leaving and coming back under alts since like 2017. this place is fun when i'm bored. mostly because a lot of my friends irl aren't into the same s*** i'm into. so it's nice to have this place as a way to talk to others about stuff i like.
i stopped taking the community aspect of this place seriously probably around the time i was a teenager. but there are lots of cool dudes on here and people who tend to know what they're talking about wrt music, film and surprisingly sports. i can imagine myself on here for maybe another year but i'm 23 now and i feel like i gotta just find people irl that like the same stuff that i'm into lol. feel like i'm wayyyy too online

A Mad Ass NiggaYeah even life section don’t hit and this use to be the funniest spot on the site. Once everyone got thirsty asl and started trying too hard for hit threads the quality took a huge hit. Music section been trash for a while but there were funny moments but now it’s just chatty patty s*** and mfs s***ting on hip hop everyday for the most part.
Hot take: l&a was always funny to me because of the bullshit nonsensical posts. It’s like what misc tries to be… blatant s***posting but that actually works and is actually funny. I started to just admit after a while we need these depraved l&a threads because that’s where the real humor comes from. It’s like bb misc in 2012 when everyone was saying horrible s*** about everyone else. Or like attitude era Mae Young giving birth to a hand. The controversy fuels the sxn and therefore on some level the site. For me it’s just funny as s***.
I originally joined this site in 2016 tho for fashion sxn but my fashion days behind me. Any fit I’d post there now would get deemed clownable and treated thusly so. There’s no point in it. Plus ktt users have kinda had the same fashion sense since 2016. Like that s*** ain’t changed that much. I know what I’d need to do to probably get a fotd or at least a few positive replies, but I’m not really focusing on that or in a position to do so these days. Just have to admit it’s a bygone era for me.

no true archive system so nothing anyone says is really remembered
threads are low quality cuz first page replies are all memes and like fishing
too much banning and reporting for common discourse
site demographic just seems very young like between 16-20
The dude who run the site don’t really make changes, he was quick to remove Kanye smilies but u still can’t embed IG or TikTok posts

I see it as positive for new users to come in here and partake in discussions, even if their takes are wack I believe it's still great for them to stick around what with the current social media climate. Like man, even my takes from back then weren't all that either. Being dumb and cringe is synonymous to young folks
I don't think about quitting, this site is still fun to browse everyday. If one day it's nuked or sum s*** it's just what it is and I'll simply move on
