    other than when you really look for it r&b is trash. i got my lesser known artists thankfully from the newer generation the talent is out there but not with jinz acorn, kehlani, daniel chicken caesar salad, sixlack and bryshit tiller. bryson tiller don’t even sound like an r&b singer like nigga go make some country music

    we need more old souls but also people who can push the genre forward... in the mainstream at least

    I disagree, even tho I can understand why, but you want my man Tiller sounding like Thug on Family Don't Matter?

    Part of R&B's decline is due to the fact that pretty much all these new artists are mid singers at best. They overshadow their vocals with cool production and creativity rather than trying to improve the most important part of R&B: your voice. There are a few bright stars vocally but s*** really sucks when you want a real talented singer. The era still cool

    wish i got in the thread earlier but yeah this pretty much my take. the men are especially lacking.
