Ahmaud Arbery situation honestly has me f***ing sad, seriously sickening how we can live in a cruel ass world with people content on ending the lives of others

It’s so f***ing sad after thousands of years of mistreatment that black people still go through bullshit after bullshit

I’m losing hope each day for my people because it seems like the fight is never ending

I’ve honestly never felt so weak, I wish there was more I can do for my people

In America, it's always 'us' vs them. Black struggle in this country highlight the worst part of it and are connected to the root. You also see it however in the views of immigrants by conservatives. It's why I dislike conservatism from a social standpoint. At global level, it's also us vs them and it's the root issue in many geopolitical conflicts. You can view black american struggles as a micro version of this same theme.

It's evident at every level of society. Lot of my coworkers at a huge international professional service firm can't seem to understand the importance of diversity programs. They take it at face value and don't understand how bad it is to have an environment of 98% people that look and act exactly like you. They see it as adversely affecting them and benefiting someone else. This is the theme of discussion in any topic of race in this country. "Us vs them". This doesn't have to be only when an innocent black person is murdered, it is seen at all levels and all races to different extent. It's also not even unique to America, but because of our racist history and just how badly institutional racism against black has/is embedded it's the most evident here.

Black people not getting shot randomly is good for everyone. Fixing police harassment is good for everyone. Addressing inequality in education and unemployment is good for everyone. Immigrants with better qualifications deserve jobs and make this country better.

But these truths aren't evident to people, when they (white people basically) feel like it attacks them. Black people are divided as well within themselves, as well as from whites in this country socially. We look at every issue as how it's gonna affect us and not by if its better for everyone as a whole. People are content to close themselves off from others, it's more 'comfortable'.

These social dynamics get addressed when we lose the concepts of 'us vs them' and hold each other accountable for the ignorance of others. Whether they are our race or not. We identify ourselves in ways that only separate us and keep the racist history of this country alive.

(I'm moving to EUR, EU for all it's faults probably addresses this problem best in the modern world)

There's your ancestors who lived through the worst of it, don't give up they'd take no excuses 😠 even if it doesn't get fixed in your lifetime you have a responsibility to advocate if you really love your people
